I have been blubbing all morning since hearing this sad news, and I don't blub easily!
We communicated a lot, even outside VEF, about the things we liked and disliked. Erdy was a true friend on VEF, not just someone whose friend box had been ticked. He always tried to please. For example, once I received some mags I had bought on-line I found in the packet two extra mags as a gift - he was not the seller, but he had contacted the seller to make that gift to me.
He had a child-like enthusiasm you rarely find amongst grown-ups which was very charming (and occasionally ever so slightly over-bearing
).
