Kay Francis (January 13, 1905–August 26, 1968) one of the tallest American actresses of her time at 5ft 9in , also during 1930 and 1936 the highest paid and thats despite having a pronounced speech impediment.As with the usual method of the day she started out on Broadway but with her soulful look soon moved into cinema in such classics as Girls About Town (1931) and Trouble in Paradise (1932).A feisty lady who eventually tied of being pigeon holed for her chic style and started pushing for more varied roles,which lead to arguments with Warner also demotion in top billing and her early retirement from the screen and back to stage.Francis married five times had numerous well-publicized affairs but no children , sadly she died at the very young age of 63 from breast cancer and having no living relatives willed her considerable fortune to a charity that trained dogs for the blind.
