Why do we say things we don't really mean? Like.."I'll always be there for you". No, you won't. Or when something bad happens, we say.."listen, if you need anything, I mean anything..just call me". Really? What would happen if you took him up on that? "Hey, listen..I appreciate that..I need a new car. Something dependable, don't have to be new, just low mileage and not too small. Oh..and my mom lives on your block, and her grass really needs cutting. I can't afford to hire anyone, so if you would, just give it a quick trim every couple of weeks.."
