The final straw on Megaupload, was one of their many servers being found
operating in of all places, the state of Virginia. Parking in the backyard of
the FBI, isn't quite the smartest thing for a file host company to do lol. Then
there's Mediafire. Now I know many people in Texas tend to think that their
big state is a country all to it's own, lol, but when it comes to files hosts
basing their operation and servers in the Lone Star state, those who do, such
as Mediafire, find out real quick that Texas is after all part of the USA. lol.
I'm not mentioning this as any dis to Mediafire and the way that they operate.
They, like many of the other survivors of the great file hosts take down
at the beginning of the year, benefited greatly. Of course with more
customers, comes more trouble that a great increase in business can
bring. The need to increase their storage facilities, as well as all of a sudden
now hosting a 100 fold increase in the amount of porn than they'd ever
hosted before. The major porn movers and shakers, are much more in the
mix of either shutting down file hosts or in some cases, actually taking over
operations of and profits of a select few of them to sell their own wares.
Paypal of course has joined in the mix of things these days, and trust me
on this......Mediafire isn't the only ones to tell them to shove it up their
asses lol. Many folks' only dealings with PayPal, have been thru file hosts....
paying for premium memberships and such, but PayPal has a VERY long history
of screwing not just filehosts over for what they deemed on their own as
shady businesses in filehosting, but many many other people and businesses
that simply woke up one day to find their PP accounts frozen. So PP definitely
had quite a bit of practice before they began denying some filehosts the
assets they'd held for them.
Funny thing about PayPal and filehosts tho......ever notice that the most
popular file host on the planet......Rapishare......will sell you all the rapids
you'd ever care to purchase thru PayPal, so you can download that latest
Batman movie you've been wanting to see! lol Go figure huh?
