Its all to do with two factors, one its all Dickens's fault because he painted a picture of something that used to be but no longer is although the last true White Christmas(and this is determined by one flake falling on the roof of the London Weather Centre between 5am and 10pm Christmas Eve/Day) was in the early 1990's-we did have a white Boxing Day once but because the weather is changing due to global warming it all depends on various factors like wind, the jet stream and direction of wind. If it blows North it pulls the colder weather down from Scandinavia(Finland, Sweden, Iceland etc) and like this February it meets some warmer air and mixes. If the wind is pulling the other way you get milder weather or a lot of rain leading to flooding as happened to devastating effect in 2007/8. We blame Charles Dickens anyway
but when it does snow here it makes it a magical place to be.
