I am trying to think back to my youth. I can remember a team called 'The Lord's Taverners'. Are they still active ? But, maybe I imagine this one but I have this recollection of a team called 'The Cavaliers'.

And it surely is this cavalier, gun-ho, attitude that is the failing of the test side. If it comes off aka Stokes, Bairstow, or even Moeen, it looks good but if they fail to rash strokes then they do look like plonkers.

Pick the right ball but not pre-determine one. Surely that's the difference with test cricket and right now England are far too inconsistent.
