Default Triple Martini - 13.

Art Tatum & Ben Webster, "The Album",
1956.
Sylvie Vartan, "Est-ce que tu le sais ?", 60's lp compilation, 1990.
Miles Davis, "Bags' Groove", 1957.

My best wishes to the tread for 2017
and to all its great posters !
It's always a real joy to check the posts
and all these amazing tasty surprises !!

Art Tatum & Ben Webster, a smooth and strong duo :
pure jazz, perfect for an inspired new year.

Sylvie Vartan, a french icon, for the energy :
this vintage "twisting" scopitone from early 60's worth to be watched !
Around 25/30 years ago I used to met her personally every Summer
as we bought our books in the same bookstore in Bordeaux
(at the time she had a holydays house on the Coast, not so far from here).
And she was really impressive : not only strangely beautiful
but a real intellectual too, in spite of her "popular" singer status.
I just regret to don't have groped her between Shakespeare and Marlowe...

Miles Davis with the creme of the creme :
Horace Silver (piano), Thelonious Monk (piano), Sonny Rollins (sax),
Milt Jackson (vibraphone), Kenny Clark (drums), Percy Heath (bass).
