Australia had a prime minister in the 1960s who disappeared. Harold Holt went swimming in the sea and didn't return, his body has never been found. He is commemorated by the city of Melbourne naming a swimming pool after him.

In 1899 French president Felix Faure suffered a seizure and died in his office while being fellated by his mistress. (So he came and went at the same time, to quote Richard Pryor).
