It is true, and I have observed this phenomena going on for the last year. I think the reason is that when a mod or supermod makes this last post , then when another member pulls up his thread subscription page all of the last posts for popular threads show up with either the name of a mod or supermod. It's because mods and supermods are insecure. They want everyother member to see all of their posts, to go to their threads.
