You'll never get your full "nominal connection speed". For me 700-800 kb/s looks like you're getting the same % d/l rate as me. No idea how much VPNs slow things down, but it stands to reason they can't speed anything up

Only because of infrastructure. Eighteen years ago we had dial-ups and max 64 kb/s, if you could pay for it. But now we have high-speed cable, and other things I know little about. I consider myself fortunate, but now everything's much faster
