This is fascinating and was the BBC London News earlier. A place in London called Dog Kennel Lane(now Hill) in East Dulwich was double bombed by the Luftwaffe in the Second World War and hit a bunker where people were sheltering. If you look around the area there are quite a lot of railings but look closer and you will see that in fact they are made up of stretchers that were used to help the people and move the dead and injured-some are small because they were the children's stretchers. After the war they were made into railings and yet people who have lived there for years have no idea as to their original usage.
