There were several people I met but didn't recognioze their names, though they were touted as stars and in NYC I'm assuming they were.
The most interesting meet was Vanessa De Rio who, if she stuck to habit after 5 years or so, can probably still occasionally be found on the nude beach in Sandy Hook, NJ (it's at the very tip of the island). I was with some people and I asked if that was her and my friends who went to the beach all the time said yes, so I went over and introduced myself while she was sunning and she was suprisingly engaging and we had a fun little chat for about half an hour before her smoulderingly handsome boyfriend who looked ten years younger returned from his swim. It seemed absolutely comfortable and casual at the time, but looking back on it, I suppose it probably is a strange memory: sitting in the wide open amidst hundreds of people in my birthday suit, having a casual chat about everything except sex with an absolutely notorious porn star legend, who was dressed only in sunglasses. The punchline is that I ran into her at a gothic media convention on halloween that same fall and while with my girlfriend she walks right up and says "there's my friend!" and gives me a big kiss on the cheek and tells my girlfriend what a good catch I am. So afterward I did what any red-blooded american male would do in such a situation when pressed for an explaination: I lied. Badly.

Show World in NYC ! i remember all of the other shops on 42nd along with that one.
i think it is Show World that is one of the last remaining ones still active.
i was just on 42nd St. at BB Kings for lunch with the soon to be wife and showed her how it is all cleaned up there now!
then in the 90s, a couple of my friends had frequently visited the nude beach in Sandy Hook and always told me about it.
one guy i work with even came back with photos which were great to see the girls on the beach there!
