I have lived in the deep south of the United States all of my adult life and while I see and interact with lots of black folks almost every day I have never heard a single black person mention or make any reference to Blazing Saddles. Ever. Is it just verboten in the black community? Almost every white person I know has seen it at least once or at least heard of it.

WHY? Blazing Saddles was a groundbreaker in the cinema taking the lead against blind and stupid prejudice. The Hero is a black man with a wicked sense of humour, so cool you could put your beer bottles in his pocket to chill them, and the baddies are all white and very stupid. The hero get's the casual racist whites (those that didn't know racism is not clever) on his side and eventually defeat the bad guy's. Brilliant and all with huge dollops of jewish humour.

It should be compulsory viewing for all 16 year olds.
