Ol' one, can you prove this statement, have you got a serious source ?
Anyway you may be right in this case but I wonder – as you just mentioned Romy was just a child of about 3 years then – if she was able to remember something about this meeting (I don’t know if this was the onliest one). In general as the most of you know that you can remember some childhood happenings and events back to the age of 4 or 5.
Nevertheless I have got an interesting fact in this context from the following german book by Michael Jürgs ( It’s a kind of biography about Romy) :
Adolf Hitler often visited the performances of Romy’s mother
Magda Schneider during her time working at the theatre in Munich from 1941 onwards – mostly he was sitting in the 1st row. He usually sent some flowers into her garderobe after the show because he really admired her (page 19).
About a meeting (or even meetings) in later years the following 2 things are known according to the book :
Hitler : “You all know that I only came to the theatre in Munich because of her (Magda Schneider)” and
Mrs. Schneider just gently turned pink (blushed) when she was addressed to this issue.
So in this case you can only speculate about a real affair between them.
As I am not quite through the whole book perhaps a little bit later I can post some interesting things about Romy’s life.
