N Korea suffers from "inherited privilege syndrome", which means it isn't communist at the top. One of the downside-flavors I mentioned. China does it better
I think a lot of "communist" countries do. In reality, what a lot of communist countries did, was replace one monarchy with another monarchy. Only instead of being based solely on birth, it was based upon birth and party membership. North Korea being the perfect example of that.
