Ronaldo is the most obnoxious, egotistical footballer it has been my severe misfortune to ever see. The no publicity you mention is rubbish. He and his team leak it. He is all about himself. His attitude on the field reflects his personality. If he gives money to childrens charity then credit to him but he is not someone who ever thinks of anyone before himself.
