RapidDrive success and introduction of the new storage space limit on 20.03.2013

The introduction of RapidDrive in November 2012 struck a chord with many of our users. With this tool you can integrate your RapidShare account on your computer as a separate hard drive.
With the rising popularity the requirements also increase. Therefore we simplified the navigation and management of data using RapidDrive once more. Additionally, RapidDrive will be available for free users from 20.03.2013.

At the same time, we decided to limit the available storage space. RapidPro customers will get to choose between 250 GB or 500 GB to save their data. Upon request we will also be happy to provide more storage for a fair price. Free users can use 5 GB storage space. Your used storage space is displayed in your account overview.

The change is coming into effect on 20.03.2013. RapidPro will be available with two run-times: 30 days and one year - 250 GB for 9.99 EUR for 30 days and 99.99 EUR for one year and 500 GB for 19.99 EUR for 30 days and 199.99 EUR for one year.

What does that mean specifically?

Free user:
Free users with more than 5 GB of data in their account will be notified of the exceeded storage space limit and will get the chance to purchase the appropriate RapidPro offer or to delete files. There will be no changes for free users who are using less than 5 GB storage space.

RapidPro customers:

Before the change, all customers will have the chance to choose an account type and potentially decrease the needed storage space by deleting files. If a RapidPro customer hasn't selected an account type by the time the change comes into effect, he will get 250 GB of storage space automatically for the remaining run-time. The storage space can be upgraded to 500 GB or more at any time. In this case the remaining run-time is cut in half. Before the deletion of the files which exceed the storage space limit, you will receive an email.
