We all know what our favourite girls did and didn't do. Who do you wish had gone just that one step further than she did?

I wish that time I met Olivia Newton John in Glasgow, that she had stayed and her PA left the bar first.

Interesting thought- I'm definitely with you on Jo Guest- I've always suspected that if Jo had gone all the way and done a full-on porn video, she'd have been one hell of a performer.

As to Page 3 girls who I wish had dropped their knickers and given us a proper look, Kathy Lloyd is definitely high on the list- I'd also add Karen Brennan- I remember her appearing in Mayfair a couple of times, and I always hoped this would be the one where we saw her pussy- but sadly not.

One I really wish had done a whole lot more- both in terms of showing everything, and appearing more than she did is ex-Grange Hill actress Paula Ann Bland. We're about the same age, and I had a major teenage crush on her when she was in Grange Hill, so discovering that she'd turned to glamour modelling was big news for me- Somewhere in the loft, I've still got the issue of Mayfair she appeared in, bought from WH Smiths on my local station while travelling back to Uni. Sadly, a couple of P3 outings and that topless Mayfair shoot seem to have been pretty much the sum total of her glamour modelling career, before she returned to acting and eventually quit showbiz altogether:

On a slightly different tack ,my favourite Page 3 girl of all time- Linda Lusardi. I know she bared all early in her career, and for shots published abroad, but I've got a slightly different wish.

I think Linda still looks absolutely stunning in her 40's and 50's, and I'd love to have seen her come out of retirement and strip off for the camera just once more in the years after she retired from Page 3...I'm sure if, say, Mayfair, could have persuaded her to pose for a really top-class tasteful nude set of 'Linda at 40-whatever', it would have gone down an absolute storm with the fans

It is one thing to 'go all the way' and bare all for magazines but quite another to do porn soft or hard core. The Page 3 girls back then wouldn't or couldn't do it because many of them knew that Page 3 was a launchpad for appearing on television or in films-probably why Samantha Fox, Maria Whittaker, Linda Lusardi & Melanie Appleby all did so well. Linda & Samantha became televisual celebrities with Sam co-presenting shows like 'The Six O'Clock Show' with Danny Baker, Michael Aspel and Fred Housego(Mastermind cabbie) and Linda eventually becoming Maggie Lines in episodes of The Bill police series. Maria tried her hand at acting(2 films) and Melanie before she died so tragically was one half of Mel & Kim(her sister) and enjoyed chart success - before Samantha decided to warble as well as Maria but for her not so successfully.

If you recall it was ages before Maria Whittaker appeared knickerless - M*yf*ir 1993 to be precise ( still have that issue) and that was very revealing. Other girls I had an inkling had got them off for the foreign market but as has been said elsewhere they all signed agreements for any full nude stuff NOT to be shown here. I would have killed to have seen Samantha Fox or Linda Lusardi completely naked back then-the Parade stuff that Linda did I never saw till much older and Samantha was discovered on a CD_ROM I picked up once on a trip up to a Virgin Megastore in London.

Porn never really interested me and the 'held open' shot as well-somehow it didn't seem to be that much of a turn on. Would it have been so with Samantha Fox doing it? not sure, but I doubt she would have been so popular here with kids and adults as she was when just doing page 3. Karen Brennan-oh yes that is a major holy grail for any fan to have but I doubt she did any - still you never know.;)

Agree with Paula Ann Bland, yes she was amazing and I also liked Melissa Wilks(Jackie) in Grange Hill and even that sour-faced one Michelle whatsit(not Gayle the singer) but then at that age you are only just getting into girls and not that bothered-however it would have been interesting to see other girls showing their bodies off-and let's face it there were a lot of them in Grange Hill.

I had hoped that Samantha Fox would pose at 40 for Pl*yb*y(her mother hinted at it once) but that never came about and Linda probably didn't pose again as she had a family and an acting career-Carol Needham did for The Sun but not many others. I'd liked to have seen Debee Ashby & Carole-Anne Stevenson do so.

Finally today's Page 3 girls lack the glamour, staying power and appeal. It would be nice to see Lucy Pinder getting it all off and Michelle Marsh(who did for Aussie photographer) and Sophie Howard, Jakki Degg etc but the ONE major difference is NO HAIR below and that will always be so thanks to the hated Brazilian style appearance or even completely shaved look. Imagine Brad Pitt without hair-would he still be popular with the ladies-I doubt it but having said that some men like the bald look & piercings, tattoos let alone huge pneumatic false breasts (which you never had in the 80s) but they are weird anyway :D
