Marilyn Monroe as Daisy Mae?
 

I've run across the picture below on the internet, and can't make up my mind about it. I think that it is her, but my searches in her VEF thread and online (using various combinations of her name, Daisy Mae, Dogpatch, Sadie Hawkins Day, etc.) brought up nothing. I had in fact been searching for holiday-themed pictures of celebrities but when this picture popped up the weblog site it was from said nothing about Marilyn. Can anyone state that it is her or definitely someone else, and what your rationale is? Thanks...

Hollywood was looking for women who looked like her, and found plenty; Jayne Mansfield, Kim Novak, Diana Dors, and dozens of others. In the movie of Lil' Abner, Daisy Mae was played by Leslie Parrish, who did not do a lot of movies, but you could find her on almost any tv show in the 60's, from Perry Mason to Star Trek.

Edie Adams (Broadway) and Leslie Parrish (who only got the role because Edie was late in delivering her baby) played Daisy Mae. Neither of them looked anything like Marilyn, except for having blonde hair. Check the pics below and you can see what I mean.

Marilyn may not have played Daisy Mae, but she did once visit Dog Patch:

Could she have tested for the role or worn the costume for a party or something similar? Is that definitely not her in the picture above?
