My favorite breed was my golden retriever. kindest dog there was. my kids used to climb all over her. She was an amazing dog. In the end she was real sick but she seemed to know she had to wait for my son to leave for Iraq before she would die. 2 days after he left she just laid down in her bed and never woke up. miss her a lot.

Without question, Rhodesian Ridgeback. I have one now, Penny, and I couldn't ask for a sweeter, friendlier and smarter dog. Word to the wise if you get one.....exercise it everyday or you'll be in for an unhappy homecoming. Did you know they were bred to serve as hunting dogs in South Africa? To hunt lion no less? Labrador Retrievers. Best dogs in the world. I had a sweetheart of a lab when I was a pup myself. He was playful but disciplined; silly but guarded me like the mint. If I ever get another that's the dog I want.
