OK never caught that one... I usually get "call microsoft at this number to correct a big problem on your computer" with a box to enter my system password (if I was an idiot), the monotone woman reading the same phrase over and over and the alarm, but for some reasons just with Edge.

It isn't 1Fichier per se as I got it from Uptobox, whatever file host WIPF use, Deposit Files and some others in the past... it's more a case of a website not checking the "publicity" they approve if they pay their bill.

Finally took the bait with the access offer for a year...

No publicity and no tracking anymore... 13.52$ in canadian money is sure not that much to support my favorite file hoster.

I've always been pro-1filchier. Even though I can't acquire it now.... possibly cos I'm thick :D

But I got Opera etc and various other tweeks, but I'm not succeeding.
Anyway....

Following this thread, I do notice a similarity from the past.

I was an RS Prem member for yonks, and then, possibly as they came under DCMA threats, RS in their last 6-9 months changed/adjusted just about everything. Timing of d/ls - restricting Free / allowing Free /Minimising monthly d/ls / Unlimted d/ls... it seemed they sent a new ordnance every few days. In the end they gave everyone notice to save and remove their uploads.
Was a classy site till they went from pillar-to-post.

1Filchier, unfortunately ~ imo ~ is going through this scenario. Changing procedures, choices etc Without a true destination.

I'm upset, because I'm very pro- 1Filch.... and feel it's only a matter of time before I can use them again ... when I learn :D

Opera is horrible, partially off-screen blank pop-ups, close them, and the then off-screen
download popup. click the download icon on the side-bar, to see he file downloading.

It's crap, but currently seems to work for 1fichier.

If you turn off your ad-blocker you should really be using a script blocker
(script safe for chrome) otherwise malvertising / bit coin mining / ransomware
will find a way on board.Disabling plugins is always a good idea

On Firefox its easily done - plugins - which last time i used it never updated itself automatically unlike its extensions - even the manual update facility was shown to be unreliable when compared to visiting adobes website.

On chrome you need to burrow to settings / advanced / content / flash - follow arrow on right and move the circle to the left to block it
If you really need it you can reverse it easily

Malwarebytes has a few small tools for removing crap from browsers that might cause
similar pop-unders

adw cleaner - scans and then you have the option to remove
usually smart to do a bit of research before removing results
as occasionally they turn up false positives.

Currently getting a "Disconnect?" message in jdownloader for 1fichier, then a "Didconnected" message than "download limit has been reached" on a repeating cycle. Troed to direct download the same file, but get messaged about adblockers needing to be disabled. Would the two be connected? That is is it the adblocker issue within JDownloader as well?

I'm getting this too & I have an account, I'm getting told I'm using a free A/c which is not the case. I'm guessing a problem their end, try again in a couple of hours

I just downloaded a 700 MB file via JD2 a moment ago, no problem. I do have 1fichier premium, btw.
