Trust a Pom to be scared of creepy crawlies! Live thru the blitz, the Thatcher and Blair years and your scared of bugs and lizards.
I lived in Sydney for 40 years and that scared me more than were I live now. Snakes, spiders and ants that can leave you in a coma or dead, I am safer were I am now, at least you can avoid most of them.
Everyone of those venomous creatures has an anti-venene available unlike crims and terrorists, how do you avoid people out to bash you for a $, or blow you up because you think differently?

I'm sure the residents of one didn't, well, maybe a few did ;)

Anyway, Buttsie, Blondi, TME, RjG and a few others, we could have a lot of fun with this thread, Time for a guided tour of a real country

We have nastiest here too, not people but Black Widows, Recluse, rattlers. Like you said, when you move away from the city these creatures were there first. So... you learn to live with them.

I agree I rather take my chances around the animals vs the city life.

Cheers

These things scared me more than any creepy crawly, trying to get across the High street, Northcote, Victoria, from the Town Hall to the Peacock Inn hotel after a few bongs was a living nightmare..

The middle lane completely vacant so whats a tourist meant to do but USE it and
play chicken with the oncoming TRAM thats just appeared

Great adrenalin rush and its even better when a huntsman spider drops out of the sun visor
into your lap

I've lived in Australia sine I was 10. I'm now 47 and wouldn't live anywhere else. Love the place. Anyone in this forum that feels like a visit, you're quite welcome at my place.

I forgot to mention there is no mud in winter. Everything is frozen from October to May, depending on where you live
