I brought this up years ago about that site. I found some of my posts on their site and asked about it here. The problem appears to have been fixed because that site does not repost the data here anymore as far as I can tell. My newer posts with links do not appear on that site. Your VEF example post if from 2009 :)

That site collects data from multiple sources and posts it on their site. :rolleyes:

I thought that site had closed down some months ago. Obviously not.

There are more sites that are a clone of VEF or have stolen large chunks of content, there's nothing we can do about it unfortunately unless we can identify the other sites owners/posters and then match them to their nicknames here.

They all want to be the best but they can never be VEF. :) The original and always the best.

Theres one thing we can all do about them - forget them

If you come across the various sites in search returns as soon as you see
one member with 20,000+ posts - LEAVE

As long as you have the ad-blocking on their not deriving any income from your visit
which is the sole purpose of their existence.

Given very few if any of us own the material we're sharing its a bit ironic to be all up in arms

People cut and paste all manner of text / quotes from various sources and
they cant do anything about it though many would like to be quoted as the source

I see google search seems to have dropped quite a few of the duplicate sites
which either means their dead or have been buried deeper in the returns

As exfarmer said, there have been many forums ripping content & comments from VEF over the years - But this is the only place that has real members, people who will reply to queries , ID requests, conversations & all the things that make it the fine place it is :cool:

Yes NIN, this discussion has taken place before in another thread I think.
Basically about non members nicking stuff, but as Buttsie says, the way the site is set up, there ain't a lot anyone can do about it.

What nicknames, what members? Eroticity is mirroring VEF. That's some automated shit, yo. Maybe some kind of hotlinking protection along with IP comparison for leeching, as well as deeper things I have no clue about in IT could help a little bit.
