Hi People, I was not aware that filesonic etc. were such a pain in the ass. Yes, FS is now, because they are down. I haven't had much trouble downloading from them either.

But I do upload a lot and I was using **************** (no bucks making shit), they're gone too now. I thought it's the best to offer multiple mirrors including FS, so you can download all parts from different hosters parallel...

But now multiupload has gone, I don't know if I'm going to offer mirrors anymore. Uploading takes a lot of time!

By the way, for downloading there are solutions. I have an account with a site which downloads for you from multiple hosters, upto 30 Gb. You then download the files from their system. It's sometimes a bit wacky, but 10x the speed of downloading without accounts from multiple hosters.

On another forum that I browse on a regular basis, there is a list of preferred hosts - e.g. for all downloads you MUST use at least one of them - and a list of banned hosts.

There are very few good solid hosts out there, Megaupload was one, RapidShare is ok, if a little slow for free users (one month premium isn't expensive though), but I've started using Mediafire, you can't upload big files as a free user, but you get parallel downloads and fast downloads as standard with no waiting time.

I download a number of anime, many in HD and mediafire just blows all the competition out the water.

So, a suggestion to the mods/admins - perhaps you should implement a list of preferred/required hosts?

Since the problems we have had with Megaupload and Filesonic, there have been hundreds of posts in mutiple threads on suggestions for filehosts. :)

Our respected, contributing members have voiced their opinions on which filehost they prefer and why. :cool:

There is a list of Banned Hosts, Services, and Sites in our Forum Rules.

As far as a list of recommended filehosts, it is not necessary. Our respected contributing members have spoken volumes on the qualities of their preferred host. To hamstring our members into a small list could keep these good members form contributing even more good material. :rolleyes:

Can you simply add K2S, Rapidgator and ******** to the banned list. Thats all the paid hosters who have 30-50k download speeds and multiple hour waits between files?

Either that or state hosts have to have a minimum speed of 100k/sec?

Download speeds vary from user to user, place to place, day to day and hour to hour. Just because you didn't get 100k/s does not mean no one else does.

Hosts are changing all of the time. What's great today is crap tomorrow and great again in the future. Wished I could control it. I'm not married to any of them. Somedays one works better than others for uploading. The next day the other works better.

Why doesn't everyone just use mega.co.nz ??? 50GB free and end to end encryption, super fast too, no shitty scamverts either :confused:

mega.co.nz requires flash to download.:mad: I will - never - install flash software on my system. It slows things down, especially when your connect rate is as low as mine, and has known security issues. Firefox has plug ins that allow downloading flv files allowing one to watch them from hard disk with a safer viewer. That doesn't do any good, however, when posters don't provide alternate links along with mega.:(

i either do not like them... both there is not much options out there nowadays.....
