Traci Lords went mainstream after the big scandal. Not that she made it to any great movie roles, but she was in a few movies and TV episodes.

Sasha Grey of course was in this last season of HBO's Entourage, though playing herself. Was also in Steven Soderbergh's "The Girlfriend Experience", a movie from 2010.

But anyway, to cut to the chase for porn stars who've appeared in mainstream movies:

Now, any that had a major career in mainstream? Not really.

Holly J Sampson went from B-Movie actress to hardcore porn.

Ginger Lynn, of course, has a rather substantial entry on IMDB.

Ashlyn Gere had some TV guest appearances in a couple of Chris Carter productions, The X-Files and Space: Above and Beyond.

In terms of (sort of) mainstream performers going into porn:

Kelli McCarty was Miss USA 1991, appeared in a handful of softcore Playboy Channel movies, and had a gig on the daytime soap Passions for several years. In 2009, she went hardcore in the movie Faithless, but looking at her IMDB page, it appears she's gone back to doing softcore only, so the foray into hard stuff may have been a one-time thing.

Not a woman, but Stephen Geoffreys, who had major roles in 1980s horror flicks Fright Night & 976-Evil playing scrawny geeks ended up going into gay porn in the 90s.


In terms of porn performers going into more mainstream work:

Katie Morgan had a pretty large role in Kevin Smith's Zack & Miri Make a Porno, appearing as (what else?) a porn star.

Nina Hartley had a small part in Boogie Nights as William H. Macy's (what else?) porn star wife.

Kristen DeBell co-starred in the Bill Murray summer camp comedy Meatballs a few years after starring in the classic 70s porn version of Alice in Wonderland.

Jesse Jane was in several episodes of Entourage.

Ron Jeremy als Kevin Cutler was in several episodes of Nash Bridges.

Under the name Johnny Bailey, Jack Baker appeared on the show Happy Days, and in the Kentucky Fried Movie.

Jeannie Pepper had a supporting role in a Jon Lovitz comedy called "High School High". She appeared under the name "Joan Rudelstein". I also seem to remember Vanessa Del Rio appearing in an episode of "NYPD Blue".
