On Friday I acquired approx 250 Vhs tapes :thumbsup: . In among them I found several Super 8 Movies . Can anyone point out the best way to copy these ?

I had a friend in that situation a year or so ago.

He set up his screen and projector and captured the projection with a video camera.

It came out looking quite good.

I'm sure there's probably some hardware/software packaged out there for this but they're probably expensive and considerably more complicated.

Check with your local photo stores. There are those who have a dedicated machine which is just a more sophisticated version of what ohmss1956 suggested. I have no idea of what the cost would be.

I hope you can hire the machine and use it at home, not sure I'd walk into the store with a bag full of porn and ask them to convert it. :p

Fortunately a mate thinks his dad has one they acquired when his grandfather passed away. He's going to see if we can borrow it . Hopefully it still works :thumbsup:

I don't know; the might do it for free if they can keep a copy!

Bygoneguy has offered to transfer 8mm films for other VEF members if the films are rare and not easily found online. Can't hurt to send him a PM and ask. You would need to pay the shipping, but lucky for lagerlout, you're both in Australia. :)
