halvar's Forum-backup-tool
halvar wrote an amazing (fast, very easy to handle) tool, to download all images in a thread which are hosted at imagebam/imgbox.
Now he is creating a new improved tool to include a backup for images from other hosts. - The images are saved to your harddrive. - It creates automatically subfolders for each post. - The subfolders are named with the thread title and the post-nr., so you can later very easy find the original post. - Saved images retain the original-filenames, if the host delivers them. - Filtering is possible, so it saves only posts of a specific user or post from e.g. page 10 to 30 of a thread. - If the download of an image fails, the thumbnail will be saved. ================================================== Improved version to backup images from other hosts too. Many thanks again, halvar!!! :thumbsup: Forum-backup 0.0.1 (includes a description) Forum-backup 0.0.2 Forum-backup 0.0.3 Forum-backuo 0.0.4 Forum-backuo 0.0.5 Currently supported image hosts:

Only for imgbox: imgbox: thumb-url to image-url converter for url-upload
Excel tool, if you want to rehost your imgbox galleries instantly.
Instead of downloading the images you get the url's and upload it with a hoster which is able to do url-uploads. (e.g. turboimagehost, pimpandhost) It's good if you have a slow connection, because you don't need to download and reupload the files. Doesn't retain original filenames. Get the tool here: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/showpost.php?p=4065821 Explanation how to use it: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/showpost.php?p=4066997 I tested it here: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t33...mpandhost.html |
These seem to be specifically for VEF threads only. Is there anything that can mass download all pics from an imagebam account?
Pls delete this post if it's against the rules. Apologies. |
No, but there are tools for downloading collections of thumb-links from posts--e.g. Image Host Grabber.

If you are using imagebam, and if you have the api and hopefully linux, i have made a script to get all of the images based on their download link.
First, you will need an output of your gallery list. You can download it with your API calls to a json file, then use php to create an array. It will output something like below. Code:
stdClass Object Code:
<?php If you have multiple galleries based on the same name, the script will append a number up to 50. If you have an empty gallery name, the script will add it to an 'unk' folder with an incremented number as the folder name. Code:
#!/bin/bash Code:

Bulk Image Downloader (BID)- Free and Easy
I am not very IT savvy, but was quickly able to get my Google Chrome browser to work with Bulk Image Down-loader.
I believe that most browser developers (Internet Explorer, Fire Fox, etc.) also have plug-ins / extensions that allow BID to work with them. Step one is to download and install the free trial version of BID on your computer. http://anonym.to/http://bulkimagedownloader.com/ Step two is to add the BID Extension to your Chrome browser. a) Open your Google Chrome drop-down menu (upper right hand corner . . three vertical dots), and then click on the "more tools" option. b) Then select "Extensions", and scroll down until you see the "Get more extensions" link. Click on it, and enter "Bulk Image Downloader" in the search box. c) When you see the blue BID icon appear, click on the "Add to Chrome" button, and wait for the confirmation. d) Go back to your Google Chrome "start" page, and look for the little blue button in the top right-hand corner of your browser screen (right next to the 3 vertical dots). This is your pathway to easy downloads at imagebam and imgbox. When you see your VEF screen, the blue BID button will still be in the upper right-hand corner of your browser screen. http://ist3-6.filesor.com/pimpandhos.../BID_001_s.jpg When you find an image (or a photo-set) you want to save, just click on it to open it up at the image-host. Then select the gallery option (if a gallery has been created). http://ist3-6.filesor.com/pimpandhos..._Gallery_0.jpg When you see the gallery displayed . . . .click on the blue BID button to start the process. http://ist3-6.filesor.com/pimpandhos..._Trigger_0.jpg The BID screen will appear as an overlay, and the url of the gallery will be pre-loaded (blue arrow #1). You will need to select a folder on your hard-drive to receive the images (yellow arrow #2). http://ist3-6.filesor.com/pimpandhos...BID_Down_s.jpg You also have to tell it what images to save . . . I have selected the "Thumbnail Images Only" option, as BID will use them as a guide, reach through them and bring down only the full-sized images. By this time, BID should have loaded all the thumbnails, and you can scroll through them (if you wish) and make a manual selection. However if you are happy to have everything BID has loaded, just click on the "Download" button (purple arrow #4). You will see BID launch the download, and as it proceeds the thumbnail images will disappear. I used this method to save my galleries at imagebam and imgbox . . . and have also used it to save galleries posted by others at VEF. Just go to the gallery view, press the little blue button, and let it rip! |
BID sounds like the way to go, thanks HWM.:thumbsup:
Just adding that ImageHost Grabber works fine with (at least some?) imagebam galleries, but not (generally? at all?) with imgbox galleries. I've added bits of uncertainty there simply because I haven't done any decent testing,:o I just know that I've succeeded with at least some, & maybe all, imagebam galleries & failed with most/all imgbox galleries. I also don't have time to look at IHG right now to see if it's possible to amend its pattern/s to work with imgbox galleries. Simpler to just use BID if needed.:cool: |
I got the majority of my images downloaded. Found that my average image size is 645 KB (this is from 1.5 million + images).
