Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc

Anybody else having problems uploading at the moment? I've tried a few times today and it's slow as hell, even with very small pics. This has been going on for a few days now and today posted pictures aren't loading on the page. Any ideas?

Greenman March 27th, 2008 06:51 PM

Yes it appears yet again their site has arsed up, its not just you that it is happening to, but there is nothing we can do except to advise people to use imagevenue, imagebam instead when posting.

spiderdijon March 27th, 2008 07:06 PM

Thanks mate, it's good to know that I'm not totally incompetant, not totally!

Terrible host to start with, just use http://www.imagevenue.com/ , much more reliable.

Mr. Gussett March 28th, 2008 10:58 AM

Why does anybody use anything other thasn Imagevenue? I've been using it for years and find it 99.9% reliable. Pimpandhost is plain awful......

Ventoux March 28th, 2008 05:53 PM

Imagevenue is the only way to go.

3044biggles01 March 29th, 2008 11:44 AM

Use http://www.imagevenue.com/
You know it makes sense.

Why is P&H, set by default as the uploader (in "quick image upload")on this forum, when Imagevenue is so much better? Just wondered...

Pimpandhost debacle

I know from previous posts that their server has crashed but that does not explain why it was a shite image server before it happened. It is the full equal of the Heathrow terminal 5 baggage system. I think its time to sack it and get punters to use imagevenue, after all, its the one the mods were banging on about before the change over. Sorry this is so direct but I, and I guess, many others have had trouble accessing pics, and when someone is searching for an ID, many of us cannot contribute unless we can see the pics.

Meglos

Mr. Gussett March 30th, 2008 09:31 AM

Frankly, P&H is (and always was) shite, compared with Imagevenue - why anybody uses anything else baffles me....

hmm.. apparently using an external imagehost is complicated for a number of people, strange as it may seem.

Xxphd April 8th, 2008 08:08 PM

at the moment pimpandhost is out of order again

bourschwa April 8th, 2008 08:19 PM

Ave !

I have just renewed hundreds of my pimpandhost pics as imagevenue pics - hard work ...

Please delete pandh from VEF !!!

As i m beginning my membership i mean its YOUR PRIORITY ...

When I click on a pimp and host thumbnail, I just get another thumbnail, I don't get an enlaged picture. It says, "click on photo for large version" or whatever, but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Leprechaun April 11th, 2008 10:51 PM

Some time ago I posted a list of image hosters here.
Imagevenue had lost a few of my uploaded pics recently so I prefer Imagebam at the moment.

I can't stand ImageVenue. It's slow, it takes forever to download a set. It renames the files so you have to re-rename them after downloading, and worst of all, PICS DISAPPEAR.

I can't count the number of times I've clicked on an ImageVenue thumbnail only to see "Image not available on this server."

Or perhaps, the said images, have been lost because the uploader hasn't stated they are of an adult nature?? I don't know.

Stezza

Pimpandhost is rubbish but Imagevenue does indeed lose pics as Leprechaun has noted above. Not very many, here and there but it does happen and in quite a random fashion. I know for a fact I've marked them all as of an adult nature and still find pics missing from some of my old posts. A few weeks back Imagevenue was acting very funny, new pics appeared fine immediately after posting but when you'd check back the next day, several were gone. That issue seems resolved now but the problem with randomly losing pics here and there from old posts is still evident. As a result I too switched to Imagebam. For more about this and my difficulty in first noticing it with Firefox see my post here.

EDIT: Update. Just noticed today one of those missing Imagevenue pics from an old post of mine is back. I haven't checked any other examples yet but maybe they've sorted out their problems now.

Bit annoying though when you're insisting there's a problem and then everything is back to normal before anyone notices. Get too much of that and you start doubting yourself after a bit :)

I noticed some occasional broken image link icons in several thumbnailed picture galleries hosted @ Imagevenue, but when clicking these icons, the pictures would in fact appear anyway. A peculiar problem..

Yes, I noticed a bit of that going on as well. There were cases where clicking the broken image link icon would load the picture and other cases where it wouldn't and the picture itself was also missing. Although the examples I noted of this appear to work ok now. In addition, sometimes the broken image link icons would appear the first time you loaded the page but if you reloaded the page the missing thumbnails would appear. It's a strange one alright.

Problems with Imagehosts - Imagabam, Imagevenue, ... [merged]

How can you download pictures from imagevenue without having to click on each single thumbnail into a post, but with something like a download manager getting all the thumbnails in one shot.,.. ????

When you have Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera ... you can use Bulk Image Downloader (Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista) its posted here:
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...7&postcount=22

Note: its shareware but you can use it for free with the limitation of 200 images maximum per download. They recently also added a timer on the new versions that makes you wait as unregistered user a increasing time before you can use the program everytime you open it the thats why i linked Bulk Image Downloader 1.27 that does not have that timer and works just as good, best to use that one.

When you use Firefox there are also browser ad-ons avilable to download image galleries.

Firefox-Imagegrabber

I use Imagegrabber as a add-on in Firefox. Works like a dream with Imagevenue.
No limitations of any kind. Seems to work with some other imagehosting sites as well, but not with Pimpandhost, which some posters on this forum use.
Does anyone know of an application that downloads from that site?

Imagegrabber works absolutely perfect - yesterday I downloaded 1240 imagevenue-pictures from a thread on another board in one go.

Issues with 'Imagevenue' (or my PC)

I recently had my laptop in the shop. Before it went I was able to load (slowly, mind you, as I have dial-up) as many pics as I was able to the above service, but now I can maybe do two (small ones) at a time, otherwise it just doesn't respond.
This is a royal pain, as I'm seeing many pics I'd like to share, but it's nearly impossible to do so. Anyone have any thoughts (or tweaks)?

I don't have those problems but you say you are still on dail-up.

Isn't it a option to switch to cable or adsl its most likely going to be cheaper then dail-up when it comes to the bills a ethernet card isn't expensive and oft can be build in to your system also your ISP probably will offer adsl so that you can keep your e-mail adresses etc. I never regretted switching to adsl when it became available.

Lena July 10th, 2008 04:56 AM

Yes, if you have access to high speed and it's in your budget, get it! You don't know what you're missing!

Mr.Bungle July 10th, 2008 09:04 AM

High speed isn't an option right now, but I did get the bright idea to try a different pic-host . So far, 'ImageFap' is working out.

DubSalute July 11th, 2008 12:59 AM

Good to hear that ImageFap works for you Bungle we don't want to miss your contributions ;)

ImageVenue has it ups and downs ... perhaps where you live the connectivity to their service is just poor atm.

buttsie July 25th, 2008 05:17 AM

Is pimphost having problems again or is it just me?

Last couple of days the thumbnails have been there but all have led to an extremely slow openeing page which inevitably times out

buttsie July 25th, 2008 06:43 AM

If you read back through the thread you'll see the common theme of pimphost having server problems.Probably explains both our problems AGAIN

Best to use the far more reliable hosts like imageavenue or imagebam as many suggest
http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...agevenue-.html 10 pics at a time upload

http://www.imagebam.com/ 30 pics at a time upload

imagebam question

Probably a stupid one, but how come I can't see the images people have posted? I registered with them this week, but on clicking, get just the various image tag options page.

Greenman August 22nd, 2008 08:32 PM

Could be there is something wrong with the website, or maybe it is updating itself-I would also advise you to check your machine to make sure your connection is okay too. Hope that helps you.

Sid ney August 22nd, 2008 08:44 PM

Thanks, but all other linked-to sites are fine and dandy.
This is what I get, sometimes just a page displaying the
embedding image tags. Weird.
