Up the Jumper
Hi,
My first mag was Penthouse, Summer 1974. http://ist3-1.filesor.com/pimpandhos...23_523lo_0.jpg Like Jenkinson & many more of you I found a small newsagents a bit out of the way where a 14 year old could get away with it. I stuck Debbie Monro (for it is she) down the top of my trousers & up my jumper & got on the bus. Look at those legs & that side boob. What a gorgeous shot. Woe! My form teacher from school (I kid you not) got on the bus & sat next to me: "Hello, how are you today, what are you up to etc etc." Eventually I got home, a little sweaty. It was a revelation! It was the first time I ever came. My favourite from that year is this Men Only: http://ist3-2.filesor.com/pimpandhos... n9 001s_0.jpg I got it because unlike Penthouse at that time it had: "Not for sale to persons under 18 years of age," on the cover. Some great sets in there. I could stick a mag in the top of my trousers, inside my jumper or jacket & ride my bike home! Very memorable! I must say that I am grateful to Restoration201 for his stirling efforts at Creamcheese. I hope everything turns out ok with the hosting, it's a wonderful resource. I enjoyed reading this thread, thanks to all. ;) |
Mayfair was never a magazine I bought much - especially in its pre-Paul Raymond days - but they did do some appealing covers. I was rather taken by this image of Louise Freeman back in the summer of 1984. I believe I bought this from the John Menzies' bookstall on Liverpool Lime Street Station at the time.

Eee! Luxury. We'd 'av dreamed of 'avin' a front cover on our magazines.
The main "porn baron" at our school worked for a local newsagent. But, under the sale or return arrangement, the covers of unsold mags were returned for a refund. So all the mags he got hold of had the main body but no cover. Not that we cared much! |
Back in the early 1990s, Men Only and Club were on fire, and could do no wrong in my eyes: I think I must have bought at least 95% of the issues from those two for about 6 or 7 years on the trot.
MO could always be relied on for trouser-testing covers back then - here's a few I remember well as putting my eyes "out on talks": http://thumbnails113.imagebam.com/47...8476067544.jpg Vol 57:03 with the lovely Helen Hanson http://thumbnails113.imagebam.com/47...8476067546.jpg Double the fun on the cover of Vol 59:10 with Jo Guest and Sammy Walker http://thumbnails114.imagebam.com/47...a476068306.jpg Natasha Lester flaunted her perfect bum on the cover of Vol 59:11 http://thumbnails114.imagebam.com/47...9476067551.jpg Another pairing, this time Sharon MacKintosh & Maria Sheriff Fabulous stuff! |
Just one today, but what a corker: dates from sometime in the mid-1990s, I think.
Club International: Tina Hayes: Nurses Uniform Do I have to explain any more???? http://img209.imagevenue.com/loc224/..._123_224lo.JPG |
This thread really has highlighted to me how important the cover on a magazine was: I was never one for standing casually in the newsagent, thumbing through the latest wares on offer from the top shelf - I was more usually a quick in, quick out, and hope no-one recognises me sort of chap. The result was that a quick scan of the covers on offer usually determined what I bought.
I went through a period in the 1990s where I was inordinately "into" girls wearing nurse's uniforms, (see Tina Hayes, above), and, considering that Emma Caesari was one of my favourite girls from the time, you can imagine that I didn't hesitate that long before handing over my £1.40 for this copy of Razzle: http://img226.imagevenue.com/loc125/..._123_125lo.JPG Emma is the girl to the right, of course, and though I was never one for daft Razzle Romps - anything involving custard, baked beans or the like - this one had a bit more about it. A good deal of water has passed under the bridge since Escort Vol 11 Number 6 first appeared in my local newsagent's in the Summer of 1993, but I still have my copy safely stashed away. PS, in case you are interested, the full Razzle set featured on this cover can be seen here: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...9&postcount=57 |

Yeah the cover was always important for appealing to your lustful eye on the old style porn mags. Mayfair covers were always my favourite and I would linger on the cover girl as a prelude to the wanking delights within. Though I was never a Parade fan myself, I can see why you grabbed this issue. The black thong is such a slutty underwear item and these two darlings wear them so dick-stiffeningly well. I love the way each is pulling at the material of the other's and we're treated to two quite different wonderful views of their gorgeous bottoms. I've never paid much attention to these two lassies before but I'll be spending some jack off time with them now. |
I guess one instance when the cover pic really had to grab you by the balls and have your eyes on stalks, was when the first issue of a new magazine hit the newsstands. Case in point, the first issue of 'New Talent' in 1994/5 or thereabouts. The covergirl in her white lingerie certainly must have caught my eye enough to have me picking up a copy of a new mag I'd never seen before...
http://thumbnails104.imagebam.com/28...0281254144.jpg She's Rachel Brill Edwards, whose glamour modelling career seems to have consisted of little more than this appearance in New Talent, and a set for the UK edition of Penthouse, who put her on their cover as well- If she ever did anything else, it sure hasn't turned up on VEF yet... http://thumbnails115.imagebam.com/47...5479331802.jpg The New Talent cover shot wasn't actually from the set featured in the mag, but the Penthouse shoot. Usually, when the a cover pic doesn't marry up with what's in the mag it can be a cause of disappointment, but not here- As I share Girlfan's interest in girls in nurses uniforms, Rachel's actual NT shoot came as a very nice surprise, and is still a favourite...:) http://thumbnails101.imagebam.com/28...b281651575.jpg http://thumbnails102.imagebam.com/28...f281651581.jpg |
Quite possibly the last real, paper magazine I ever bought new: It is from 1998 or 1999, I think - I saw it and just couldn't resist the lovely Karen White on the cover. She's one of my all-time favourite models.
http://img139.imagevenue.com/loc434/..._123_434lo.jpg By that time covers were beginning to rapidly decline in quality: crudely "drawn-on" knickers, dots etc. were starting to appear, and the day of the specially shot cover picture was almost done. Happily, Karen didn't suffer that ignominity. |
