I met her, Lynda Wiesmeier and Kym Malin at an auto show in Des Moines, Iowa during that time. All three were rather nice, but my attention was totally on Cathy.

So sad to know that two of them are now dead.

Many of my favorite Playmates are somewhat "overlooked," like Mercy Rooney, Nicki Thomas, and Cathy. Artificial or not, hers is my favorite body type. I can only imagine what seeing her in person must have been like.

I don't suppose there are any statistics that indicate whether women who have been Playmates or Pets have a different average life span than the rest of their generation.

That's an interesting question. I'm a stat freak, but I'm not sure I would be prepared to do those.

Seems that appearing in Playboy, Centerfold of the Month or Playmate of the Year, has not always been a blessing and more like a "curse". Just look up the names, causes of death, ages, etc. of women who have appeared in Playboy..and met with tragic deaths, accidents or self inflicted CODs. Seems odd that some of them died under "mysterious circumstances". Fran Gerard, got "killed" in an auto accident, then later, COD listed a s"Unknown", as just 1 example.

Oh yes there is...esp. related to "tragic deaths".

She was one of favorite Playmates.

Some have died very young, Missy Cleveland, Star Stowe, Willy Rey and of course, the murder of Dorothy Stratton come to my mind immediately.

Shame we lost her. She was a very kind, caring, loving woman. Wish I had known her better.

I agree that there are some tragedies among Playboy centerfolds, but I think there's just as many tragedies among people we've never heard of. Yes, Playmates are more visible, and that's why we know about it.

All things considered, I'd say the pluses outweigh the minuses of being a Playboy Playmate, and I'd say more Centerfolds have benefited from what they did compared to those who's life didn't go well after posing
