What Happens When We Die?

Here is a topic that most wish to avoid! I have done much research on this poignant question that still remains a profound mystery so I will leave you with a passage from Timothy Leary's last book titled Design For Dying. He certainly was a brilliant clinical psychologist.

To try to be a little bit more precise, here's my educated guess: when the body stops functioning, consciousness advances to the nervous system, where it belonged all of our lifetime. Consciousness just goes home to the genetic code where it belongs. When consciousness leaves the body neurological existence within a twenty-billion-cell ecstatic system becomes what we call infinite. I predict that dying is a merging with the entire life process. In other words, we become every form of life that has ever lived and will live. We become the DNA code that wrote the entire script.

~Timothy Francis Leary 1920-1996

SP - I know exactly what I'm doing after death - I'm going to be 'rogering' a Guardian Angel who looks like this...

Let me get this straight. When i go I have to be a marmoset, a pubic louse, a pterodactyl, an aardvark and an as yet unevolved flying vampire squirrel? All at once? Sounds rather busy. Do i get to be a generic marmoset or do I have to be every single marmoset that has ever existed and will ever exist? Fuck that, all I want of the afterlife is cold beer and hot pussy. Then again I reckon I'm bound for hell, but with the right attitude and a lttle bit of application I should be promoted to junior supervisor within a couple of millenia, thus avoiding a large proportion of the unpleasantness reserved for the ordinary sinners.

as an afterthought, can our German friends actually pronounce "squirrel?"
"Skvirrel? Vot is a skvirrel?"

Only joking, please take no offence at the above comment, I'm posting drunk again :D

The "mother" of all questions, soft pillow.
my point of view: I will know when my time come.No matter what,I wonīt be able to do nothing about it.Just go with the flow.
Nobody died and come back to tell us how it is.At least, nobody that I know. All we have up till now is belief and pure guessing.I wanna see for my myself....and I will.
Itīs a surprise and I like surprises!
Meanwhile, since I donīt know about afterlife,I think strapper gave us a good tip:cold beer and hot pussy!!!....way much better than old mags while weīre in the waiting room.
Cheers!

Eternity is living spiritually in a moment. That moment is death. Love is "heaven", indifference is "hell". You will live eternally in the spirit in which you die.
Therefore, it is of vital importance to be perpetually thinking of it. http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repo...9mons/0085.gif

afterlife

Death is simply nature's way of telling you to slow down a bit. Personally, I don't think about it too much. But I would prefer not to be there when it happens
