@yeastieboy - I just read the Wikipedia entry. They have changed her birth date to 1941.

I remember Allison from my University days. When her centerfold appeared, several of the guys I studied with thought she was one of the most beautiful women PB*y had ever posted in their mag. I remember the two kids in the spread listed as 'swimming school students' revealed in Wikipedia as her children. Such a beautiful lady, and now gone. Yet when I close my eyes ...

Here's a few more details on how Allison (Gloria Waldron (later Graf)) died. When I first read about her death from the posts above, I thought 69 seemed fairly young to die of heart failure (especially on the beach). I'm not trying to stir up any controversy with this post but the snorkeling explanation from below (with associated heart failure probably) makes more sense (to me at least). She has always been one of my all-time favorite PM's.

Allison was one of my top favourite Playmates. She was lovely to the end and died a good death as anyone would wish for. Here's her obituary. http://www.palisadespost.com/obits/content.php?id=5893

Requiescat in pace

Her thread

I had absolutely no idea she was a singer. I remember her in Players magazine (which featured Black women exclusively), but I don't recall a mention of her being anything but a nude model. Thanks for the info.

Two more lovely ladies who died too young were the Drive-in beauties, Candace Rialson and Patrice Rohmer. Patrice OD'd on heroin in 1978, in her 20's. Candace died of liver disease in 2006, at age 55.

Cheryl Smith, exploitation star of the 70s, born June 6, 1955, died October 25, 2002. Familiar to many from her work in such B-pictures as Cinderella, The Swinging Cheerleaders, Video Vixens, and Fantasm Comes Again. Died of hepatitis related to a long-time heroin addiction (which had also previously caused her to serve two prison terms which had effectively ended her career).

An excerpt from her bio on the IMDB:

"...the lure of hard drugs was to bring tragedy to the lovely and talented "Rainbeaux" (a nickname given her for being a mainstay at L.A.'s Rainbow Club, a popular spot for musicians...Rainbeaux was once a member of the legendary girl band The Runaways). Heroin plagued her life for many years, and caused her to contract hepatitis...which ultimately killed her."

Cheryl Smith was an underrated actress who never really got the respect due to her, and who sadly also made mistakes that bring down many young people drawn to the Hollywood lifestyle. She is at peace now.

Very moving thread. It's amazing, these women i never met, yet feel a terrible loss at their passing.

I suppose there are many who would question my motives, but I truly respect the gifts these women possessed and have nothing but respect for them.

How sad it would be without these glamorous creatures walking the planet with us, the other 99.9% who don't look like they do.

RIP ladies, and Thank You.

As you can see from the response it is by no means whatsoever too cheesy, no "too" anything else. An excellent idea, sir, and a long overdue one.

Granted, these ladies were not exactly making the same sort of selfless sacrifice that
a Peace Corps nurse makes. But, they were admired by many and very much appreciated by even more people. I'm sure I am not the only one who often wonders," I wonder whatever happened to....", and now we have at least one convenient , and place to look in this case HOPE we do NOT find her name here. Still, it is an inevitable conclusion to all of our lives, and the information needs to be available.

Well done, sir! Well done!
Thank you .

Played sexy secretary in 'Enter the Dragon'

Ahna Capri, who began as a child actress in the 1950s and had a career as a sexy starlet through the 1970s, died on August 19 at age 65 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Los Angeles. The beautiful blonde was probably best known for her role as Tania, the secretary of Han, the villain in the 1974 global hit "Enter The Dragon," which starred Bruce Lee.Born Anna Marie Nanasi on July 6, 1944 in Budapest, Hungary, she began appearing on American television as Anna Capri at age 11 on series such as "The Danny Thomas Show" and "Father Knows Best."She made her big screen debut at age 13 in the United Artist production "Outlaw's Son," and continued working on such TV shows as "Police Story," "Cannon," "Mannix," "Ironside," "Adam-12," "The Mod Squad," "The Invaders," "The Wild, Wild West," "I Spy," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "Branded," "Leave It to Beaver," and "Maverick."In the 1970s she changed the spelling of her first name to Ahna because she said too many people mispronounced it.Her memorable film roles, besides "Enter The Dragon," included being the fed-up girlfriend of a country singer in "Payday" (1973); the horror movie "The Brotherhood of Satan" (1971); a feisty wildlife photographer in "Piranha" (1972); and an assassin in the low budget "The Specialist" (1975). She made her last film in 1979.A longtime resident of the San Fernando Valley, she never married. Her death was the result of an auto accident in North Hollywood on August 9, in which a 5-ton truck driven by a 22-year-old female driver collided with her car. She was in a coma on life support for 11 days, and passed away with family members at her side. She is survived by her sister Rose. Plans for a memorial service are pending.

One of my all time favorites.
