Welcome to the Classic Pornstar section.

So what to post in this section?

• Pictures and clips of pornstars that started in 1995 or before
• The content section is for content only. Content = pics / clips / relevant biographical information. Please post if you can add content and/or improve quality. Posts not adding content relevant to that pornstar will be edited, moved or removed
• Posts with movie clips must have screencaps or preview images and include:
  - file size
  - run time (duration)
  - resolution in pixels (screen size)
• Screen grabs without movie clip links need to have 90% of the images to be able to identify the model of that thread (May 11th 2021)
• Members are allowed 5 posts with video links per day, and each post may contain 2 video links (re-ups & mirrors are not counted)
  
• No thread flooding allowed. In Classic Models sections this means that posters may not make more than 9 posts in one thread in one day
• Report broken links, errors, posts in wrong section, etc. here in this thread.
• If you think a model is wrongly identified, always give your reasons and/or tell us who you think she is. Make your report in this thread and not in the model's thread.
• Members who have received more than 150 thanks must post ID requests in MIR here
• Members who received less than 150 thanks and do not qualify to post in the Model ID requests section (MIR), may post ID requests in our request sub forum here

I have a question regarding requests.

If a particular scene link is dead, how do I make a request for a reupload?

Normally, I would think that one would make the request in the thread in question, so that earlier readers who had the chance to download the scene could be asked to create a new working link.

Content threads are designed for content. I know it would seem sensible to ask for re-ups in each particular models thread but the problem with that is that those threads become clogged and overwhelmed with re-up requests.That is why we prefer a few methods of dealing with re-up requests.

You can report the post as having dead links. Every reported post will be dealt with by a Mod. That might mean we edit the post to show the OP that the links are down. It may mean we PM the OP and ask for a re-up. It depends on each individual case. You can also use this thread here to point out dead links for Mods to act on.

You can also try PMing the original poster to see if they will re-up. Many good posters have sigs that say that. "PM me if any links are down" is what they might say. Try asking the OP but don't be a stalker and ask for it more than once. If the OP doesn't respond, take a deep breath and move on. :thumbsup: They may not visit VEF anymore, they may not have the vid anymore or they may just not feel like uploading it again. That is their decision.

Include a link to the post w/ the dead links and maybe someone will recognize it and re-up in the models thread. :thumbsup:

Posting re-up requests in Model threads will usually get binned. That is how our members prefer it and that is what the rules say. So please to all re-up requesters.......read above. :thumbsup:

And always remember this................active and thankful members will get better results than non-participating members. Don't just be an asker, be a thanker at the least and a poster if you can. :cool::thumbsup:

Questions - Report Post button vs Post in Report Error Thread
 

Hey there Mods..

Just a couple of curiosity questions..

I have been using the Report Post button (lower left in each post) to report bad download links instead of posting them here..

Q1 - Which method is preferred? (Report button vs Post in this thread)

Q2 - When the Report Post button is used, I am assuming that you see a link to the actual POST itself, correct? (if not, should I place the POST # in there also?)

I am trying to be as helpful as I can, so I thought I would ask..

I think we would all prefer that you do a "reported post". Like you said, it links us directly to the post in question and makes it a bit easier for us. So to answer your questions:

A: Reported post is the prefered method of alerting us to problem posts. You can still use this thread here but the reported post is the best way.

B: No need to include a link in a reported post but in this thread we do need to have a link to the problem post.

Another current problem, the RS links that are
not unlocked, of course the first step is to send a PM

We try to encourage members if links are down, to write to the original poster and see if he will re up the links-if he has them. Nine times out of ten a post gets removed if a request is put up on the forum saying something like, 'Links are dead please re up.' An odd exception may occur if the links are repaired before we get to it. You also have to remember that some of us are subscribed to threads and receive notifications that someone has added a post. Much to their annoyance is when the new post says 'Please re up.' That is your other reason for having a post binned.

If links are dead and you/we cannot contact the poster because he hasn't logged in for days/weeks/months/years, then the only alternative is to remove that link or post, as it is dead anyway. If the post still contains active decent content then only the link gets removed.

However, not everyone wants to write out messages as such or feel uneasy about it. That's fine and we understand that. You can still report a post for this by hitting the red triangle, and then we deal with it.

For us not to inform anyone regarding dead links or post removals etc, the main answer is here;

VEF moderators reserve the right to remove or edit posts without notice. When this happens - do not repost/reverse the edit! Due to our limited resources, you may not receive a message explaining the removal. An explanation will almost always be found in the Forum Rules.

If you are still unhappy about a removal, pm the section mods.

As for double posting pictures and so forth, I would urge anyone about to post, to first check the thread itself and make sure the pics you put up are not duplicates. Now that's good because the thread is only five pages long. So no excuse there. But if the thread is fifty pages long, it is unlikely that you will go through all the pages as it is too time consuming for a start. As mods, there are times when cleaning threads we can remove pages of useless posts that include dupes. This can be anything from a few posts to seven/eight pages or more. It depends on the content at the time dupes are spotted. If it is a small amount and only happens once or twice, then we would just remove them and say nothing. If it is a regular occurrence or recent one, then we may look deeper into it. Sometimes we consult with other mods to make them aware also, and this works both ways.

If anyone is ever unsure about posting then use threads such as this to highlight it. Or use the report post function. There should always be an outlet for you all.

Please do not make "cleaning requests", threads will be cleaned as and when we get to them.

As Darth said, Classic Pornstars section is currently undergoing a massive thread cleaning project. We have an approach and a method that we are following and we plan on cleaning every thread in CP. It will take alot of time and we ask for your patience. Please don't make requests on what threads we should clean first. We have a process and we will stick to that. In due time we will all see an improvement in the section as we cull all the threads of dead links, dead images and old requests. Thanks in advance for your patience. :thumbsup:

Your "general rules" seem to contradict with what is written in the introduction of the Quick Directory: "If you [are] looking for a classic pornstar check if she is here.
If you have a model thats not in this list, let me know in the welcome thread, if she is not in here at all, then create a thread of her."

I would agree. It does not make it just easier for the users, it also makes it easier to maintain:

You have a threshold when to put someone into the index. If that threshold were 0 then you simply put in all new arrivals. If it is not, then you've got to check each time a post is made: (i) is this now beyond the threshold, and (ii) if it is, is the thread already in the index. At this point I was looking for an academic-hat-smilie - I actually teach algorithms at university.

The only way this saves work is if you do bugger all about maintaining the index that way, and wait instead for someone to shout that thread X is beyond the threshold. That works if sufficiently many people care sufficiently about the index to keep it up-to-date. If not then the index is buggered.

One downside of an incomplete index is: people will assume completeness of the index and create duplicate threads.

... I would like to send my greetings + THX @ all the moderators who are actually caring about the non-paid(!!) elimination of “dead parrots” [= dead links] in the VEF CP section!

FYI @ Admins (and other members): For cleaning and/or rearranging some “normal” database, an IT specialist here in Central Europe will get around 50-90 Euro/hour. For handling and/or restoring important data based on older software like e.g. dBase IV, a company might pay him/her up to 250(!) Euro/hour. I don’t know how much money a “cleaning” specialist in North America will get for his/her IT job, but I’m very impressed that you passionate(!) guys [= I assume that most of you are US residents?!] are doing this “cleaning” work @ VEF for "nothing"!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

As there seems to be no VEF bank account where I could deposit some $$bucks$$ to honor your work … please feel free to click on one of the links below [= depending on your country of origin and/or your special gusto :)] to have some virtual(!!) beer as my "special" reward for your wonderful work!

The Picture (playing Card (XNK0635)) in Lorna/Jacqui Rigby/Jacky Rigby is NOT Jacqui Rigby (XNK0648):rolleyes:.

There are two girls who look similar for short while: red shoulder length hair, large nose, Slight frame, but one has larger ears and crooked teeth (front) and a rounder face – this is’ Jacqui’. The other has a squarer face and perfect teeth.:cool:

using an allowed file-host, then post away! try to include some screencaps or a
preview to the clip you're posting. in some cases if you aren't able to, you can
quote the screens/preview from the original post and add your new links. :)

Yes it would be okay to post links to any other Jacky posts you find on VEF.

The easiest way imo to add a VEF link to a post is like this:

In the right hand corner of each post is the number of that post. Left click on that number and you will get a single screen shot of that post. Now copy that http address in the single screen shot and paste the link into your post in Jacky thread. You might want to include a couple pics of the linked post to show members what to expect.

And always remember to credit the original poster. :thumbsup:

What you're proposing is to make an ID request for each performer which must be posted to the Model ID Request forum.Rules state one request thread per model so I would suggest taking a screenshot for each and posting that alongside your link to the whole. I see you've not earned the necessary 150 Thanks to avail yourself of this facility but that's no problem. Just head over to the General Discussion & News forums and get involved. You'll run up your thanks count within a couple of days and could well make some new friends along the way.

If you find your Jaguar on IAFD, then include a link to her in the first post you make in her new thread you want to start. That's it. I kept separate threads for them as both models have several pseudonyms. It would have been possible had they simply been known as the "Kiss Sisters" for example, but in this case a total merger would have messed up the A-Z listings.
