The earliest source that I have for the 1974 claim - for those with very long memories - was the Jamal Database back in 1997, but it could be even earlier.

Of course IMDB and IAFD have both given the more realistic 1967 for many years.

I too recall seeing the 1974 date from way way back then. I agree that the 1967 date is likely more realistic.

Having seen both dates before and judging by the fact if it was 1974, she would have started almost right after her 18th birthday, and based upon her appearance: a birthdate of 1967 and a starting age of 25 seems more plausible.

Making a call on this is up to the mods. If a determination is made to change it, I will edit accordingly at the direction of the mods.

I have been following Danyel for many years and the birth year was always stated as 1974, including by IAFD and IMDB. Then suddenly someone changed it and that change was all over the place in no time.
Why would she start at age 25 and not 18? Judging by her appearance in her first films from 1992, 18 years is exactly what she is.
Of course , I have no actual proof of this, since I dont have her birth certificate:)

I did find this little tidbit about Danyel's age. She is quoted in an LA Times article about the death of Savannah at the time it happened. The article attributes her age as being 26. Given the date of the article is before Danyel's birthday in 1994, that would indicate that she would have been born in 1967 and indeed would have been 25 in 1992 when she started her acting career. One can only assume that whomever took the quote from Danyel also asked for her age as well. Perhaps this is where the 1967 birth-date originated.

It is possible to locate her age through open records. I know how to do it, but will not. Nor will I share how to do it. It just doesn't seem like an issue worth pursuing to me imho. ...but that's just me.

Danyel began her porn career just before her 18th birthday by stripping at the clubs in the area of her hometown, Paoli, Indiana. Eventually, Danyel became a headline dancer at Brad's Gold Club in Indianapolis shortly after becoming a full time stipper. In 1992, Danyel entered the Miss Nude Galaxy competition. She didn't end up winning the competition, but she met porn director John Stagliano, who helped introduce her to the adult film world. And in four short years, Danyel was featured in over 100 titles. Just three years in the industry, Danyel decided to retire in 1994 to raise a family with her husband.

Hotmovies takes their information from IAFD, AVN and Adam Film World. I would suspect the 1967 date is correct since most female actresses shave a few years of their age to appear younger.
