What Do You Like About This Forum?

I thought I'd be positive for once and ask what do other members like about this forum of ours.I like the friendly atmosphere and the banter.You can learn so much information (some of it useful)and exchange your views no matter how inane.I also like any forum where can become a senior member within 4 months.

I love this forum, too, although at 44 I can't say I like being hit with the "senior" tag so quick. I joined this forum just looking for vintage porn but found so much more. I can offer my goofy opinions on everything from my favorite candy bar to my sexual fetishes to my favorite comedians. And what really makes it fun is reading other people's opinions on the same topics. The men and women on this forum are witty, intelligent, politically aware and friendly. It's a pleasure to know you all. VEF, long may she wave!

The extent of collective knowledge within the VEF membership is astounding, beyond its amazing devotion to rare content. I've witnessed no other place to match it.

I love this forum, but now and again I do shudder.
Like if I stumble on some gonzo rubbish when I'm more interested in the Village Ladies - that kind of shudder.And in terms of opinions they are brilliant in the main - some extreme now and again- but most of the time a fair bit of intelligent self control seems to be exercised.

I belong to a couple other forums.....One hardware forum where everyone needs to be an "expert" and almost compete on every subject from hardware, software, politics, and women.Mostly a younger crowd, and things that matter to me are often disrespected, misunderstood, and mocked by cocky young kids.

A sports forum where people endlessly flame new members, correct grammar and spelling, and act like pompous asses.The fellowship of loving the same team is lost among the desire to be the board know it all.

Then there's this place.....I'm among my piers, age wise,we share a common interest,we don't let our cultural differences stand in the way of our common interests, and the flaming is at a minimum.Everyone is as willing to ask for help, as they are to give it.That's cool-ego is a non factor here.
Porn forums are a dime a dozen, but a community based on sharing, and making the other members happy is a nice place to belong.

I joined this forum as most members for the good 'ol vintage stuff of days gone by, though I have to say I prefer the atmosphere of this forum than any of the others I'm in.

Members are willing to help out others, don't see unnecessary insults etc as in most forums but I think thats because we have an older generation in here, i'm 28 but feel more at home in this 'community' than the other sites i'm on.

Some posters make me laugh on how they uncover say a 1986 VHS to share with us, it's unreal, the time people give to this place I really can't thank 'em enough, I just wished I was older so I could have some 'ol stuff I could share that I'd collected down the years.

Apart from the obvious - clips and scans that I didn't even know existed, etc - I like the fact that there is very little sniping on here: even when someone says something daft (and we all do it, or will do it), people do not jump on them.

I love this forum because its like no other i have ever come across before and theres no pun intended there i promise :) Have been on a lot lot lot and i dont just mean rude ones either :) But theres something about this particular one :) No idea what it is but theres a vibe or something :confused: Dont know and am very very drunk at this moment so might not be making most sense :) It has a feeling about it which is all down to those who take the trouble to not just post great photos of even greater looking women but take the effort to write things that are bloody interesting and in many cases so damn funny i want to complain to the media and tv companies demanding the writers are giving their own damn tv shows and newspaper columns :mad:

What I like about this forum is its diversity. One minute you can look at or post pics of your favourite models or celebs the next minute you can discuss soccer or whatever book you happen to be reading at the time.
One thread that I really liked was the Things noticeable this week thread. Which now seems to have disappeared.
It was a good thread for a variety of reasons because you could discuss both current affairs & commemerate historical events, such as the Battle of Britain. Many of which took place during those momentus weeks years ago before most of us were even born.

My two cents worth: I find that VEF is like a philosophy, a way to look at life, retro style, in the context of a civilization which...
I do hope VEF doesn't change its community based orientation and its openness and diversity.
I also really appreciate the camaraderie that develops over time with VEF members and moderators.

Before I ever found VEF, I had a 500GB hard drive full of '80's porn. I used to say to myself, "Man, if I ever find a site that specializes in classic porn, I can make a lot of people happy." Then I found VEF & judging by my thanked posts, I've definitely made a lot of people happy. :D

The conversations & generally positive feedback from members is just about the coolest thing on the net IMO. I have to admit to be being a bit of a lurker for a couple of years.. but since contributing and taking part here and there have found it to be one of the best forums on the web. Excellent content and excellent bedfellows. I'm not a fan of forums where people are rude to one another, I like acting online like I do in the 'real' world. Unlike most porn forums I've stumpled upon, this is a place where people actually have conversations about life and everything around it. There are no flame wars and insults. If we disagree, we argue as adults and still "drink a beer" together. It's like sitting in a pub and having a good time. But I think that the average age of forum members here is also a reason why this place is so down to earth. Most of you guys grew up in a time where thing were just more down to earth. I can see it on your jokes. They got style. :D

I like this place because almost everything I type into the search engine is usually here, and there's actually pleasant conversation going on. Also, many internet forums are inundated with machismo posturing, but VEF isn't like that. Everyone seems to get along, and there's very little bitterness.

Very true! I don't just log on here for porn. I log on to have a laugh with friends, albeit friends I have never met. there is a strong community spirit on here.

I log on here for the same reasons as have been said already. Not for the porn as we all know you can find similar everywhere if you want to search for it. I log on for the same reason i joined the friendly banter and interesting discussions . As was said before there is no fighting here no arguments or abuse being thrown. Many might not understand this as they might have only ever been on this one but that is a rarity for an online forum !. To have no groups picking on others and to have no bullying is an amazing feat !. Just look at youtube or facebook pages and youll see what i mean and theyre not even forums !. The behavour of people towards strangers nowadays is terrible and a crime.
Look around the threads and really look at the threads in this part of the place. Can you find a single person abusing another member ?. No you wont !. You will sometimes find the odd post having a go at a mod though and for why ?. To quote my lookalike when i see that sort of thing being put towards mods it really ¬grinds my gears !¬ :mad:

Probably not being that clear in what im trying to say as im enjoying my bank holiday by getting bladdered on boddingtons. I know its that the mods work here for nothing and lead by example and the veteran posters who have the same mind set as the mods also help out , or something. This place is a true one off thats all. Nothing to do with how its set up but how its run and by who. Its the great people who make this place not the porn. Porn is everywhere and anywhere but the usernames here and how they see life and treat others is what makes this place more than special in my mind. Also the laughs have to give a shout out for the laughs as i have never laughed so much and so hard in my life over so many of the posts here :cool::):):thumbsup:
When i first joined i posted a hello post and said something about having nothing to contribute but my thanks and thats really what i felt .As when you first join a place like this you can get a bit overwhelmed .In this part more than others because you read stuff and see its been written in a way youd never be able to complete with. But then the friendliness of everyone and the way the mods speak to you . Speaking for myself i was a newbie . A newbie on a forum . Anywhere else id have felt pressured and i bet my first couple posts would have been mocked and id have not posted again .None of that happened here !.There was such a level playing field . Not a them and us feeling . Well not from the ones who spoke to me . I quickly learned that here its not about competing with anyone else its about being yourself as being yourself is all you need to be as if youre respectful of the rules your welcomed as a :thumbsup: brother member :thumbsup: no matter what :):):):)

I was one of these opennap-server owners in former days and I thought I've had have enough 'bout virtual boredom.
But.........this forum is different from most of the others I met on my night-wanderings.

On the whole it is a friendly place, devoid of trolls and other ne'er do wells, the content here alone is enough to make people stay and let's face it we are the best around and allow more content to be seen offline without being a member which should make people want to join to find out what they are missing out on. It is good that the wastrels and other less savoury members are booted off-if nothing else they fail to read the rules so no spam or unnecessary content will be seen.

Speaking as an ex Mod, one of the thing I liked about this forum was not getting swamped by PM's-obviously back then there weren't a lot of members to do this but as it built up I got quite a few to which I always replied to courteously and was happy to help. The fantastic stuff posted by various posters has been way beyond my expectation and being a full on Page 3 fan, I think you can say I've never had it so good :D All in all a great place and made some good friends here too. I would like to think that my contributions have help enhance the place too like threads and exclusive scans.

Several times I spent a long time looking for movies before spending hours uploading & posting them, and believing I'd contributed something

But 10 minutes later the the movie is deleted because "we already have it" :mad:

It's the only thing that freaks me out about this forum - the search engine :mad:

I was nervous, at first, about joining VEF. I didn't know what to expect from the MODs and the other members about my postings of pics and discussions, as I have encountered some real ass****s on other forums.
I really appreciate having ONE site for everything I could want to see or talk about, with people who are welcoming and friendly. I have posted over 300 picture sets and discussion comments in the past few months and I have been recieved well.

I will be a member here for a long time....... Hell, I might even want to be a MOD someday. :-)

I like that this site seems to be about sharing and contributing info on OOP classic or hard to find movies. I consider myself and other VEF posters as preserving these sometimes lost or forgotten oldies to an updated, more permanent format. The "Thanks" button is awesome and I have not seen it at any other forums. I look forward to checking my received thanks on a scene or movie post, knowing that I helped a fellow VEF'er find a not as common or previously unposted material. The thanks I receive also pushes me to do better, individually selected screen caps (in the style of VEF member grossnex) rather than the smaller, blurry software selected screenboards. I've also found a lot of great material here, that I now have a huge 2TB ext hard drive to save all this stuff. Thanks VEF !

Well aside from the obvious of VEF having thousands of great photos of beautiful naked women from all walks of life, I also like being able to interact and share thoughts and opinions with other members, whether it be through thread "replies" or PMs, in addition to being afforded the opportunity to provide general thoughts, comments, and opinions on any given thread!
And, because the members here hail from all parts of the world, I find that VEF is a valuable conduit and a treasure trove for gaining a wealth of knowledge and information, which is not only limited to nudes, models, stars/celebrities, but to a vast array of other topics and subject matter!
