Moana Pozzi (b. 27 April 1961 in Genova; d. 15. September 1994 ? in Lyon)
(real name: Anna Moana Pink Pozzi) was an Italian
actress and porn star

She began her film career in 1981 and played small roles in cinema and television films. In the same year she also played (without credit) for the first time in a porn film (Valentina, ragazza in calore). In 1986 she had a small appearance (uncredited) in Federico Fellini's film Ginger and Fred. On the set she became acquainted with the Hungarian-Italian porn actress Ilona Staller (Cicciolina) and began to appear again in porn films credited under her real name. With numerous appearances on Italian television at the beginning of the 1990s she rapidly became a national star, whose popularity exceeded even Cicciolina's.

In her 1991 autobiography, La filosofia di Moana (Moana's Philosophy) she indicated numerous affairs and sexual meetings with important men, but did not mention any names. Former Prime Minister Bettino Craxi is said to be one of these men. Together with Ilona Staller, she created in 1991 the short-lived Italian political party Partito dell'Amore (party of love), whose platform included the legalization of brothels, better sexual health, and the creation of "love parks", which failed however in the 1992 elections. In 1993 it again began with restaurant elections in Rome, but failed again.

In 1994, at the age of 33 years, she died in Lyon of liver cancer. Her death at this young age and the fact that her illness was completely unknown before, led to doubts about the official cause of death. Rumors arose, that she really died of AIDS or that quite the opposite, she was still alive and her death only faked, in order to leave her old life behind and begin anew. One wanted to avoid speculation, because of the then-current political change in Italy (first choice of Silvio Berlusconis to become Prime Minister) [vulnerable] to extortion or embarrassment because of her numerous affairs with (anonymous) influential men. The fact that nobody had apparently seen her corpse except relatives, and that the family entangled itself with contradictions after her death, helped to feed these rumors.

In 1999 the Italian feature Guardami came out, which was based on
Moana Pozzi's life. On 12 September 2005, the Italian public
prosecutor Attilio Pisani communicated that the investigation of her death
would be resumed, since there were many errors and
inconsistencies in the official report over her death. In December
2005, Italian television broadcast for the first time the official register of deaths of the
cemetery in Lyon with the accurate death date of Moana
Pozzi, as well as the certificate of cremation. Interviews
with her family [revealed] its long kept secret of Moana's
[relationship with the already married] Antonio Ciesco,
and affirmed the circumstances of her death. In February 2006
Simone Pozzi (b. 11 March 1979) communicated that he was in fact
their son and not the younger brother of Moana Pozzi (as was earlier thought).

I met very few if any who did it for the love of sex..most where spiritually dead arseholes, had money or drug issues or where just seriously dysfunctional human beings.

Autopsy Released in Death of Porn Icon Marilyn Chambers

The coroner's office conducted an autopsy two days after the body was found, which indicated that most likely the cause of death was natural, but additional toxicological tests were required for confirmation.

Those tests showed Chambers died of the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage and aneurysm related to heart disease, according to the coroner's office.

Toxicology tests also indicated the presence of two drugs, hydrocodone and Citalopram, but she did not have a higher amount of either drug in her system than would be normally prescribed, the results showed.

I only saw her in a loop I believe after I read the account similar to yours that she had died of suicide or murder. The RAME account tells of the wound to the head and that the weapon was found upstream. LOS ANGELES û Veteran cinematographer Bruce G. Sparks, who shot for such diverse directors as Dino DeLaurentis and Richard Fleischer in Hollywood, and Joe Sarno and Carter Stevens in XXX, has died, reportedly by his own hand, though exact details of the death are not known. Sparks had been retired for several years, his last screen credit having been for the 1980 documentary, The Creative Adventures of Isamu Noguchi.

"I don't really remember when we met," said Stevens in an exclusive interview. "I know it was after Collegiates [1972] because he didn't shoot Collegiates, but then after Collegiates, there was a two-year stretch when I was doing a lot of non-union production work, so obviously I met him during that time. It might have been when I was doing a lot of work for Dino DeLaurentis, because I remember Bruce shot the screen tests for Mandingo; I production-managed those screen tests. Dino did a lot of non-union stuff. Richard Fleischer, the guy who directed Soylent Green, I actually saw him offer to get Bruce a union card, so Bruce could shoot IATSE stuff, and Bruce turned him down because he didn't like the union so much. He was very much of an independent mind. Bruce was an iconoclast, a very independent soul. He literally taught me to load a 35mm film camera on the back of a pick-up truck under a street lamp because he couldn't shoot the next day and I needed to get a shot done, and I didn't know how to load an Arri, and he taught me how to load an Arri so I could do the shoot myself the next day. That was for Lickety-Split [1974]."

Sparks began his Hollywood career in 1966, working camera mainly with famed adult director Joe Sarno on such creations as The Love Merchant, Skin Deep in Love, The Bed and How To Make It (a play on Richard Lester's then popular mainstream title The Knack and How To Get It, starring Rita Tushingham) and Anything For Money. Sparks also served as gaffer for Sarno's Red Roses of Passion, about a sexually frustrated woman who joins a sexy women's club, and later as lighting director for Sarno's The Swap and How They Make It, another punned title.

"He was a self-taught cameraman," Stevens recalled. "He was crazy as a loon, but he was my kind of crazy. I know, in the early days, Bruce studied at the Pasadena Playhouse, and I believe at one point he was roommates with Dustin Hoffman.

Sparks worked as Sarno's cinematographer from 1966 through the end of the decade, lensing such adult-oriented features as All the Sins of Sodom, Wall of Flesh, and several Swedish productions, including The Indelicate Balance and the Inga series, starring Marie Liljedal.

However, when Sparks began to do hardcore features with Stevens, he (like so many who work "both sides of the hill") adopted a pseudonym, Prudence Prevails, for his XXX work. Sparks and Stevens shared camera credit for such well-known adult classics as Lickity-Split, Highway Hookers, Rollerbabies, Teenage Twins, Double Your Pleasure and The Love Couch.

"He was my first camera on about half of my features," Stevens wrote in an email. "He was a man of rare talent and I can honestly say I learned more about camera work and lighting from him than I ever did in college. He single handedly made me a better filmmaker."

R-rated versions of two Stevens/Sparks classics, Punk Rock and Pleasure Palace, have just been released by Secret Key / Alternative Cinema.

So sad to hear Jennifer (JJ) Died. She was the PMOM in the first issue of Pl@yboy I ever bought (it was a risk, I was only 17 but, she was to hot to pass up.) I still have a soft-spot for redheads because of her.

Its so sad that her life took such a tragic turn toward drugs and related crime before she passed. I heard she had bad medical issues with related chronic pain that lead her toward heavier and more powerful pain killers addiction and finally overdose and death. Hey all-Happy Easter and good comments here. I also wonder about why women take up a porn career whether it be now or in the golden age. Today is much more of a liberal and open venue compared to 1980 and an expectation of being seen is more obvious today with tv channels and the web. Back in the day, the loops and films were in the theaters in town that had them, then the videocassette opened it up more if you rented them. I think the ladies in both generations have-had the possible delusion of stardom at some level-it seems too many (not all)lives led to a dismal path. I'm not judging, but am fascinated with the economic and even psychological reasons women do this and then, disappear. Clearly, not all have vanished, but it must be interesting to embrace the lifestyle and carry it with you (and the public to an increasing degree-the internet) as a one time pornstar settles in their 50s and beyond. I wonder how weighty or liberating it is for various "stars" after youth fades.

There is quite a lot of misinformation about Pedon on the 'net and elsewhere. Some folks theorize she used her friends IDs at points (a woman named Rosma) or swapped IDs with her. There is no confirmed death certificate AFAIK and a very informed source who has spoken with her ex-husband confirms that she is probably alive but very much shying away from any publicity.

I just found out about Leslie's death in a weird way. Over the last couple days I got hit with a bit of extra-heavy nostalgia for the early 80s, including the porn thereof, so I tracked down Leslie's scene with Erica Boyer from Nothing to Hide. I decided I wanted to see what else was in that film (having ever only seen Erica's part) to I tracked it down. And I was reminded of a time when porn movies were actually movies - with acting, sets, etc. (Yes, of course they still make those - Pirates and the XXX TV show parody fad, take a bow - but you know what I mean.) John Leslie, along with Ron Jeremy and a few of the other "golden age" actors, really did know how to act.

So just 10 minutes ago I was watching Nothing to Hide and I thought "I wonder what he's up to now." I hadn't seen his name for a few years. So I popped his name into Google and - I am not making this up - the actual thought that went through my mind as I clicked "Search" was "I bet the guy probably died last week".

A few months back Annette Haven claimed on her Facebook that Lisa DeLeeuw is alive and well but has distanced herself from her porn life. It has been reported this week that Tyler Lambert, the 25-year-old son of the late actress Dana Plato, committed suicide on May 6, 2010, by gunshot.

Ms. Plato starred as Kimberly Drummond on the popular sit-com "Diff'rent Strokes" from 1978 to 1984. Her son, Tyler, was born in 1985. Tyler's father, musician Lanny Lambert, was awarded custody of the boy in 1990 owing to Ms. Plato's chaotic life and substance abuse problems.

Plato posed for Playboy in 1989 and appeared in a lesbian scene in a low-budget film thereafter. She had a few scrapes with the law, including a much-publicized armed robbery in Las Vegas, NV, in 1991.

Plato was unable to revive her acting career despite numerous attempts.

Dana Plato committed suicide by prescription drug overdose on May 8, 1999. She was 34.

Tyler Lambert suffered from depression, which was exacerbated on the anniversary of his mother's suicide, which always coincides with Mothers Day.

He might have been suffering from inherited psychiatric issues as well as post-trauma from him mother's suicide. Dana Plato herself was born to a teenage mother with a troubled life. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Plato when she as 18 months old and pushed into show biz at an early age.

Lambert's suicide shows the end of a sad genetic line.

John Leslie-- so much more than a porn actor.

The man was in a blues band, played the harmonica & sang. He was an excellent photographer in his own rite. And he could act! His performances in many movies, among them Dixie Ray, Hollywood Star, were good enough for any straight film! Were it not for Hollywood's ignorant black balling of porn stars, guys like Leslie , Robert Kerman (R. Bolla), and Ron Jeremy would all be/ have been serving double duty on both screens. Yes, John was not one you would call first for a charity gig. But he was a male porn star. Hardly the pinnacle of earnings power! The man needed to work, and work came first if the opportunity presented itself.

As far as Annette Haven goes, you have to remember she is a long time admitted bi-sexual and goes through periods of detesting men. She loves herself more than anyone else & it often shows. She was the third in the John / Bo /Annette triangle that went on during Bo's rise to fame. Hollywood can keep things quiet when it is to THEIR advantage to do so. News of Bo trading licks with a porn princess would have derailed her career, so it never was mentioned until years later.

Juliette Andersen always had kind words to say about John Leslie. On her web site,when she was still alive he was referred to as " ..one of my favorite leading men.." so there are definitely differing opinions on the man. MARIA SCHNEIDER - ACTRESS WHO PLAYED BRANDO'S LOVER IN LAST TANGO IN PARIS

Maria Schneider, the French actress who died last Thursday aged 58, shot to fame as a 20-year-old after starring, with Marlon Brando, in possibly the most notorious sex scene in cinema.
Last Tango in Paris (1972), directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, is the story of a young Parisienne, Jeanne (Schneider), who begins an affair with a middle-aged American businessman (Brando), who insists that their relationship should be purely sexual; the lovers do not even know one another's names. Though much of the film now seems dated, one sex scene - in which Brando finds a novel use for butter - has never been forgotten.
"Marlon had the idea, and I had a burst of anger," she recalled of the scene. "But I was too young [to say no]. I was no more than a baby at 19. So I did the scene and I cried. I cried real tears during that scene. I was humiliated. [Later] I heard that the character I played was supposed to be a boy. That maybe explained it."
At the time, the sexual content caused outrage and the film was banned in a number of countries, including in parts of Britain. Despite the film winning Oscar nominations for both Bertolucci and Brando, its director was given a two-month suspended jail sentence in Italy.
Schneider, meanwhile, became a celebrity overnight, a development that propelled her onto the path of drug-addiction, suicide attempts and fractured romantic relationships. "I felt very sad because I was treated like a sex symbol," she complained. "I wanted to be recognised as an actress."
Though she remained on good terms with Brando, Schneider never forgave Bertolucci for his role in her celebrity. "I have not seen or spoken to him since. He was a powerful personality and manipulative. I became trapped in his fantasy," she said. After she became famous, she added, when she went into a restaurant she was "looked at like an animal, especially by old men with shiny eyes". She claimed to have made only £2,500 out of the role.
Born on March 27,1952, the product of an affair between the actor Daniel Gelin (whom she did not meet until she was 15) and a 17-year-old Romanian-born Frenchwoman, Schneider left home at 15 after an argument with her mother. While working as an extra she met Brigitte Bardot, who knew her father and offered Maria a room in her house. Through Bardot, Maria met important figures in the film business and her career took off.
After Last Tango she rarely disrobed for art again. For women who persisted with the profession, she had a piece of advice: "Never take your clothes off for middle-aged men who claim it's art."
Schneider had a long-term lover who, she claimed, saved her from her drug habit. In interviews she referred to this person as "my angel" but never divulged whether it was a man or a woman.

She was beautiful woman, but people never described her as particularly intelligent. This quote pretty much confirms it. There is NOTHING about Last Tango in Paris that suggests that her character is a boy (especially the casting).

She was also a person (much like Linda Lovelace, to use someone in a similar situation, even though Schneider was clearly not a porn star) whose words on her work flip-flopped depending on how her life was going. When the film came out she bragged about her bisexuality, number of lovers, and drug use (specifically mentioning cocaine and heroin). Later on, when her life had taken a bad turn, she called Bertolucci a "gangster and a pimp" and said that he had ruined her life. She claimed in particular that her drug addiction had somehow been his fault.

There is no doubt that she found the filming of Last Tango in Paris traumatic. However, that she was able to smilingly go on the road to publicize it, and then twenty years later claim that she had been shaken to her core, is ridiculous. Ask a real-life rape victim if she could travel with her attacker on a publicity tour... it puts Maria Schneider's overdramatic words into perspective.
