I shamelessly exploited the idea from "Worst inventions"-thread, started by Anklebiter:
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t73500-worst-inventions.html

Mvasilj`s post opened my eyes,:D, there`s lot of useful and good inventions around:

http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/4261/cf828642604894.gif (http://www.imagebam.com/image/cf828642604894)
Where as at the other end of the scale, this is the BEST and most useful invention of all time

So I start this thread with basics:

The roof:

Hey, awesome idea! :D

I think indoor plumbing goes a long way in separating us from from the Huns.My favorite modern thing has to be this computer-so I say the micro chip. The scientific, technological, and leisure it's provided changed the world.

Oh, and the wonder bra too

Don't know that I can totally agree with ya Billy, I'd rather have been a caveman with toilet paper than a caveman with a wheel, I wonder what he used to wipe his butt?

Anyway another good invention I find useful is none other than

Here`s something I always have with me when travelling long trips by train, or camping in wild nature with friend who has over 60db volume when snoring. Having a friend like that is good invention too, because bears avoid all kind of noise caused by humans.

The best invention yet to be invented, as far as I know. Something I could hook up to my TV so that when those "Girls Gone Wild/Wild Next Door Girls" infomercials come on, I could press a button and the bars censoring the good stuff would disappear and I could see everything. The guy (you know it will be a guy) who invents this will make a freaking fortune.

The wheel. Unfortunately there's a fatal combination of the inventions 'wheel' and 'Miss' - especially if additionally combined with the inventions 'credit card' and 'shoe shop'!

Music, the instruments to play it and the ways to record and save it. What would we all without the music we love?

And last but not least thanks for inventing ...

I'm not sure about the best invention, but in my humble opinion the cleverest invention has to be the Vacuum Flask. If you put something in it which is cold it keeps it cold; if you put something in it which is hot it will keep it hot. What intrigues me is how does it know?

All kidding aside, the popcorn maker. Sorry, but I don't like that microwave popcorn in a pouch crap. I love opening the jar of popcorn and pouring the kernals in the popper. While that's going, I melt the butter on the stove. Then I put the popcorn in a huge bowl, pour the melted butter on top, and sprinkle it with parmesian cheese. You can't get that in a pouch.

Man that was one cool invention:cool::cool::cool:The thinking of Citizen Robespierre, bizarrely, was that Madame Guillotine was a more humane method of execution than either hanging or shooting. Hmmm.

However, it did create some legendary and occasionally strangely cool death scenes. One example I've always admired was Citizen Danton, himself a murderer and died in the wool revolutionary fanatic. But when his turn came, he died rather well. His last words to the executioner were:

''Show my head to the people. It's worth seeing.''

No-one will ever say that Citizen Danton was a coward.

It don't know anything, and that's how it works.
There is a vacuum between the inner and outer case which prevents most of the heat transfer. The little bit of heat transfer that does occur happens at the screw top and is slowed down very substantially. :)

Lots of good stuff here, but winners like the bog and the bogroll have turned into necessities we could not live without and our enjoyment of them is occasional (hopefully). I have in mind something that does not exist yet but would never become boring.
You are watching tv and there they are on the screen; the politician, the celebrity, the nonentity; I mean the one that you would consider waking up half an hour earlier to get more hate into the day; that one.
You press the green button on my non-invented remote and concentric circles and cross-hairs appear on your screen. You manouever the sights around till it is middle-for-diddle, flip up the cover that signifies 'weapons hot', press the tit and the targets head explodes in a mess of gore with a satisfying bang. No actual weapon involved unfortunately, but because we now have interactive tv there could be a feedback system so the person on the tv really gets a perfect idea of how much they are appreciated.

I was in a holiday resort in Majorca recently. The place was full on coffin dodgers and all their needs were catered for. Zimmers, buggies, walking sticks, grabbers, scratchers, ect.

However the one that most fascinated me was the automatic toilet seat lifter and lowerer.

That must be a great boost to mankind. Imagine a life without the words, "put that seat down".
