Imagehost that you can use to post pictures you want to share here on VEF.

This is not hard to use, just follow the steps described below, success.

3mb files size limit (best use .jpg/.jpeg to upload but other formats are allowed)

Step by step how to use:

This "how to" features the screencaps of the steps on imagehost 'ImageBam.com' .

Note for the people that use script blockers: for some features to function as described below javascript needs to be enabled on both sites.

Step 1.

go to the site of the imagehost ImageBam.com (http://www.imagebam.com/):

Step 2.

when you want to upload more images then that there are uploadslots then scroll down a bit and click on the "[10 more files]"/"[30 more files]" link:

Step 3.

start filling the upload slots, starting with slot 1, by clicking the "Choose" button, this will open the window to browse to and open a image to that slot. Note to keep the (page) sequence correct when posting sets or magazines
when done select "Content type" always select "Adult / 18+"/"ADULT content" here when uploading content with nudity
finally you can select the "Thumbnail form" thats the size the preview thumbnails will get in your post and the "BB-Code alignement" thats how the thumbnails will be placed, always use horizontal
when all is set press the "Upload" button

Step 4.

the upload is finnished when the page refreshes to the page showing the images and the link codes
on this page you will see on the top 3 link boxes under the line "ALL IN ONE", go to the BB-Code link box and click in it with your 'left mouse-button' all links will get selected and get highlighted in blue, now click with the 'right mouse-button' on the selected links and click on "Copy" on the menu that pops up
now go to the new post where to you want to add the links or "Paste" and save them to a text file to post them later

Step 5.

in the reply where to you want to add the uploaded images you only need to click in the message box with the right mouse-button and choose "Paste" from the menu that pops up, the image links will be added at the place of the cursor
when "Paste" does not work then go back to the imagehost page and "Copy" the links again, go back to the reply and paste again then it should work.

Step 6.

finally to check if all is OK press the "Preview Post" button, when it looks as you want press then "Submit Reply"

Thumbnail form/BB-Code alignement options and results:

both imagehosts have the same options for thumbnail form and post allignement, below you will see 2 examples, with allignement always use horizontal

Today I tried to view an pic that is hosted on Imagebam and found out that it is now blocked in the country where I live. Here is the message on the screen:

Is there any way that ImageBam can be contacted to let them know about this? Or if someone gives me an e-mail address for their customer service, etc. I can write and let them know.

I heard same story today, wonder how long the block will stay in place as its obviously not imagebam hosting something like that on purpose but as a site open to all to upload content there its something that could be uploaded to them.

With this kind of reasoning all other free public image- and filehosts to can be blocked.

There is oft a solution to get arround the DNS censor and thats using a alternative DNS server:

I give up to get previews on my posts. i follow all the steps again, but "step 5" doesn't appear on my screen. It's hopeless. So, I put links on my posts and if someone doesn't like that I say "look at all the Rapidshare links. You have to download them first to watch the pics. At least you don't have to be a member to download pics from a Imagebam link like many Rapidshare links. It's still free for everybody."

I found another way to place thumbnails in a post. If you make a new post typ the exact BB-code of every picture in the "insert link". It is a lot of work, compared with copying galleries, but it works.

I only noticed now: Imagebam has stopped offering its best feature - ZIP upload of multiple images. When I now submit several pics at once, it mixes up the sequence. So, it's good-bye, Imagebam, for me. The ever more aggressive pop-up etc. ads on viewing were getting to be annoying, anyway...

Use Select All* (images) on your keyboard and you won't have that wrong sequence problem

*select first image with your mouse, type select all shortcut on keyboard.

I think it's a Windows quirk, because I get that with other programs too. It always puts the last selected file on top.
So I select the first file last. This give me the correct sequence.

I don't think it's for the likes of us, it looks more like something the site would have to install, similar to the pimp and host plug in. So you could upload to imagebam direct from here.

correct rotobott. it's only interesting if you run a website and want to allow your visitors to upload images to your page - or if you want to include a similar uploader like imagebam itself into your website to only display the code someone can use elsewhere.

if this or that's the case you have to include the scripts and script-code and you have to code some options by yourself to gain the desired functionality. javascript and html-knowledge recommended if you want to try it out, and please don't ask for any specific help in our forum how to achieve this, that's far off-topic.
