I get paid £800 a day to view porn sites and evaluate them for a large software company I can't name. Only work 4 days a week, though, so that's a problem. Need to find other consulting work to raise the lifestyle a bit.

Have to say i was slightly skeptical about the thought of anyone getting paid £800 a day to view porn sites , because surely it isn't that hard (cough) to attract applicants ? ... Why i know a couple of people who`d be willing to do it for tissue paper alone ! :D ... Still the idea of sending my CV almost appealed to me there for a minute  ...
By the way can you claim for finger abrasions ? ,or is that considered an associated risk of the job :D ...

Whis it like trucking in the UK? Over here in the states its a real pain in the ass, with all the lane and speed restrictions, and the price of fuel ever increasing and the cost of permits and etc....etc.....
It's the same here, all trucks are limited to a maximum speed of 50 - 57 mph (some large companies restrict their trucks to 50 in order to save fuel and reduce their insurance costs)
Fuels costs around £1.30 ish a litre ($2.49)
On motorways we are not allwed into the outside lane except if there are only 2 lanes.
It's very hard work for the smaller operators, quite a few have gone under mainly due to the fuel costs.

I`m working as a tax consultant in Germany
I love it, no I hate, I love it, no I hate it and so on:)
1) good job on the one side when you got a client saying "thanks guy for bringing me back 1.000 € from the tax office"
2) worse job when you got a client saying "What? I do have to pay taxes? I invested just 500.000 € in my firm. You guy must have done something wrong!"
when you take a look in his bookkepping and you see that he gained 1 Million or more from his investment then you feel like going back to client from 1) ....
there are worse jobs in Germany:)

GreenSkull is right we all need career changes.
I wanted to be a Gynecologist but there were a few issues:
1. The dirty raincoat.
2. Me continually sniffing my fingers.
3. I thought all Doctors were in Practice, but no apparently not down the Pub, as I told the Policeman strange you would think the Barmaid would have appreciated a free examination in the convenience of the workplace.
4. The wife wouldn't let me bring my work home with me.
5. I kept redecorating my hallway through the letter box.
Then I tried condom tester but the gay scene just wasn't for me (safe sex sucks).
Taxi driver worked for a while but then the Police found out my Guide Dog didn't have a driving licence.
So back to being an alcoholic wanker with aspirations as an amateur Gynecologist.

Respect mate, I can't understand the mentality of some kids either. There is no reason at all to attack the fire brigade, it sickens me when I hear about it on the news.
You're all doing a sterling job, and we are all grateful. To hear about the pay vs standard of living it's a disgrace. You are lifesavers (and riskers), you should be paid to reflect that.

its a myth about the music buisness being full of rich people, its not,its full of people trying to run small clubs and their bands on very limited budgets, which is why i work with over 20 bands and get nothing but free gigs,cd's,booze and cigars :)

I've studied architecture, but worked only half a year in that profession after the end of the education. I liked the work itself but hated to be every day in the same office around the same people. So I decided to have a second education as a social worker, and after that I worked a few years helping long term unemployed people back to employment. Between all that I was a militia warrant officer in the swiss army. But today I work for a big second hand shop, collecting and delivering furniture and small goods. With this I've found a job I really like. It's absolute stress free, somewhat good paid, every day brings something new, and I only work four days a week. - Finally I've found my place.

I now run a homeless shelter for young female immigrants , well i say a shelter but i guess it`s more of a king size bed really. Still if there are ever any awkward questions or unintelligible grunts once i drop my slacks , i merely point to the tin foil badge sellotaped to my jacket and the European union quilt cover , as i find they usually get me over any embarrassing humps

I've worked as a warehouseman, factory operative (on 3 different occasions by 3 different companies), nightwatchman, labourer on a building site (I hated this), dustman, painter and decorator (very briefly), debt collector (truly awful job - I only did this for a month) and my last job was with a furniture removal company (this ended in August). I this specific moment in time I'm on the old rock 'n' roll -dole.

I also worked long ago in the textile industry. My father was a worldwide well known embroidery machinist. (In England, also). But for the last 19 years I have had my own custom cabinetmaking company, which is now in the shitter, thanks to the current economy. So now, I'm looking for a job at the age of 58. I'm 48 and I've been politely () informed by the Jobcentre that the chances of me gaining any future permanent full-time employment are nil. I'm obviously not the only person they've told - but it's really depressing to think at the prime of your life, you're on the scrap-heap. :(

I hate to admit it but I sell CCTV/Security equipment to installation firms. I have a hard time reconciling myself to it sometimes because of the "Big Brother" factor in how and where they are installed. I can't complain too much because I still have a job in this wretched economy. It is a real indictment of both our ecomomy and our society that even in the midst of the global downturn our business is fairly healthy. People and businesses want to protect their ass(et)s more than ever. I wish i could find something I enjoy more but the Queen of Mean (my s/o) has to be kept in her diamonds and furs or else I am spending ALL of my time on VEF. I returned to school in the early 80s to get a degree in commercial art. Since then, I have worked for a number of hardware tool manufacturers creating printed literature and advertising as a designer and photographer. In 2007, my employer shipped my job to a marketing firm in North Carolina and I was out of a job. Impossible to find another full-time job in a crappy Obama economy and being 57 years old. For the last 5 years I have been working freelance with mostly photography and Photoshop work to pay the bills.
Previous to all of that, I was a television director, a dental technician, and a police officer.

I have 2 jobs:
I am the Chief of Technical Operations - formal title - for the Savannah, Georgia affiliate of the CW Network. In reality I'm an executive button pusher. I'm the poor schmuck in the control room that inserts local commercials and switches from one program to another. Because the run times of all commercials must be noted in a master log I - unfortunately - have one of the few jobs in the world that requires you to know the time, to the second. As you might imagine this takes clock watching to a sublime level.
I usually describe my job like this:
"I get paid to watch TV 8 hours a day. But, I can only watch 1 channel and it's a shitty one"
My other - and much more enjoyable - job, is as a studio guitarist/bassist and recording engineer. It can be very lucrative, but the work is never steady.
I'm going to start taking night courses so that, before I die, I'll finally be able to call myself a Certified Freelance Gynocologist.
