I alway liked Mick Mars, thought he was vastly under-rated.
During the early 80's when many bands had multiple guitar players,
he was one of the few who did both rhythm and leads,
so live performances could really bring out their talent.

I was at their concert few weeks ago, and they were good, I mean 2007 was not very good tour, maybe because of that young guy on guitar and personally speaking, for me it just sounded too "sweet". This time they rocked, no matter how bad Ian Anderson`s voice is nowadays. Maybe some old fart might have different opininons about this, but as I have seen them 12-15 times, this was very good. No matter how strongly world changes, there`s always Jethro Tull playing live in some club, and that`s just unbelievable.

I viewed the 'Richard Goode Master Class' youtube clip, which basically showed just a few minutes from one of his classes. I posted my comment on youtube, and it was promptly deleted. It said something like this:

Generally speaking, these young Asian women understand the importance of fundamentals and discipline, two important traits that seem to have long since disappeared from American society. Consequently, they have all the power and technique in the world, but can they really play a note?
This, I think, is what Goode was alluding to when he suggested that the performer should make an impression with "differences" (expression and dynamic contrast) as opposed to sheer speed. If these young Asian girls would go out and get their pussies licked once in a while, then perhaps they'd play with more emotional content.

Most of my Chopin collection is a mix of Rubinstein, Andre Watts, (very nice), Emile Pandolfi, Cyprien Katsaris, Van Cliburn, (whom I saw play Chopin in Jersey), and Martha Angerich. But my favorite would still be good old Horowitz. I still have to listen to Sohatexas's cuts, but I'm kinda rockin out right now with SRV! Jersey girls are the best, by the way.., I married one..:p

Great guitarist. That's him playing "Sweet Dreams" at the last scene in "The Departed". I used to go to a really bad bar in the Transfer Station near Jersey City, NJ, to see a guitarist play who was taught by Roy, he was great, too, like a junior Roy.
