Christa Speck (born August 1, 1942 in Danzig, Germany (now Gdańsk, Poland)) is a German model and actress. She was chosen as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for the September 1961 issue, and as the 1962 Playmate of the Year. Her original pictorial was photographed by Sam Wu.

Christa was working as in a bank at the time she was discovered by Playboy. After her Playmate appearance, she became a Bunny at the Chicago Playboy Club and was featured in several more Playboy pictorials. She married children's programming producer Marty Krofft, and they have three daughters together.Playboy centerfold appearance

Of "natural causes", Christa Speck died at 70 on March 22nd, 2013.


Her family said she was "one of the most celebrated Playmates of her time." Her family further stated: "Mom had an uncanny ability to make everyone smile and touched so many people with her unique sense of humor. It's rare to find a human being that holds no judgment and sees the good in everyone. That was our mom. We will miss her terribly."
