What has happened to the British Spanking Thread? Recently we got to 600 pages , now it's down to 322, and all my posts have disappeared. New posts keep getting deleted
I think we at least deserve an explanation of what's going on

The "do not post any" list is still in effect. The day we got notice, it was added to the list. (See the "G" section) Updated 12-24-11

My statistics show 499 posts, yet I'm also shown as having been thanked 22,435 times in 2,023 posts. :confused:

This was just waiting to happen. A few photos are no problem, even to GHM, in fact they are good advertising. But scans of whole magazines were going far too far.

Scans of whole magazines that have long been unobtainable are invaluable. If particular copyright holders want to object (even if they don't make the material otherwise available), nothing can be done. But it would be a great shame if we went back to posting only photos out of context.

max31uk was referring to his posts in the British Spanking thread, which was under General Modern Topics. The point is that the entire BS thread now seems to have disappeared, not just the many posts that were recently deleted due to copyright issues.

We had representatives of two organizations contact us and basically say "remove our copyrighted content or we will take legal action against you"

We have no option but to comply.

The thread in question is big, over 600 pages, and not all of the posts have the name of the content in them, so it has to be trawled through one post at a time by a mod who knows what they are looking for in order to remove said content.

Once this has been completed the thread will be returned to it's forum.

This is not the first time we have had a "Take down notice", and it won't be the last.

My advice is, if you see something posted at this, or any other forum which you like, save it to your own system, you never know when it will fall foul of "The Man". :(

We apologise to everyone who's been affected by the removal of recent posts/threads, its out of our hands. We have to comply with all copyright issues.

Thanks for this message; good to know that it will be back. Personally, I'm hardly going to lose sleep over the loss of Kane reprints but the Blushes, Uniform Girls stuff are - as one poster has stated - invaluable. Without doubt.

Thanks Sam and Inglorious for keeping us informed with regards the British Spanking Thread. I'm extremely new to the site and finding a thread like this was like being a kid in a sweet shop, just so much to look at.
Like everyone else, it was magical to look at these old photo-sets, as they brought back so many good memories. I understand that if certain people didn't want their material on the site, that's fair enough, we will all have to be patient and wait for these posts to be deleted.
I found that the most recent posts which included copies of a whole magazine (including adverts!!!) was going a little bit too far, I would be happy just to be able to see the photo's, but that's just me.
I look forward to the thread being up and running again and will hopefully spend many hours going through the pages looking for lost treasure!!!

I'm yet to fathom out why some content is banned on one forum but posted like a rash on another with impunity and no sign of the dmca crowd.Both forums are highly visible and known to each other so obviously known to the copyright whingers.

Reminds me of the CC red pics mass removal which re-invented itself and became an identification thread without the content though its not hard to imagine theres some sharing done off forum.

This is absolutely rubbish. Harrison Marks and the other old bastards who use copyright laws to get the forum crushed should be kissing the ground of those who own this website. Those publications are out of print and no one would even know who the hell they were or what they created if it wasn't for this forum. I'm 34 and hardly anyone I know has ever heard of Janus, Februs, Roue, Blushes, etc. Those publishers should be grateful this forum had kept their work alive. If not by now most of those aged fools will soon be 6 feet under and won't be able to gripe anymore about copyright infringement. It seems to be part of a recent clampdown by all the British run spanking sites. Imagefap in November added almost all of the well known ones to their 'banned' list. The new videos are also appearing more infrequently on sharing forums and most the links are quickly removed.

Whilst I understand it on the video forums less so for the magazines many of which, as mentioned before, are out of print (plus the re-prints by Janus are often poor quality, the scans of originals posted here are better quality!).

It was because of this forum, I became a huge fan of Harrison Marks, having never seen much of his work before. I bought a couple of those Blue Vanities DVD's which had a lot of his clips on them (GHM most probably get royalties). Now it seems they've shot themselves in the foot over this, as any potential Marks fans joining the forum now will find it much harder to discover his work and they won't buy the official merchandise.

Just a thought - I realise the folks at v-e-f don't have time to clean this thread up, but can we, the users?

Is there a way of dividing up the posts, emailing them out, and then us users delete offending content and then email our chunk of posts back? I'm thinking 50 posts divided by a dozen of us; something like that.

I'm no techie so this may just be impossible to do. It is just a thought.

Your underestimating the size of the task

600 pages x 10 posts = 6000 posts

If they were posted as sets and not random collected posts it would be quicker
but then that all depends on whose doing the checking and how much time they have to put into it
